Amandas C (mx) wrote: The film is excellent. List actors, acting, dialogue, scenes, costumes, camera, photography, special effects, music, outdoor shooting, excellent .... For my taste the movie is very good. I recommend it, to see it and give your own opinion. Fascinating, can not stop seen it, it has a lot of action, suspense and keeps you wanting to know the end ... A great movie. I hope you enjoy.
Anthony M (mx) wrote: Bien plus drole que ce que les critiques laissent entendre. Des dialogues fendars, un bon jeu d'acteurs, un scenario original (au moins la premiere moitie).
Mark K (ru) wrote: this is a bad bad movie with some of the worst film making and acting ive seen since the 80s.

Alejandro R (ca) wrote: Another amazing Kurosawa contribution! I added this to my Netflix list some months ago not even knowing it was one of his. Famous for his 1950s samurai films this film also really delivers great visuals and story in his renowned signature style. It really is a great story!
John M (au) wrote: Doesn't age the best - but really is worth seeing for the vision of the director and all the pretty stunning physical effects. Excellent revenge movie.
Matthew G (mx) wrote: There are two things I learned from Loves of A Blonde: 1. Amateur actors can often give much more memorable performances than trained ones [via the piano player's parents and their circuitous, circumlocutory arguments.] 2. The Czech word for hello is pronounced "Ahoy!", leading me to believe that every inhabitant of the land-locked Czechoslovakia secretly wants to be a sailor.
Brad G (kr) wrote: "You are my heart, but I'd cut you out if you were a traitor!" An exceptional but forgotten gem of Cold War cinema. Terry Moore is a proud American waitress fending herself from the affection of Lee Marvin's mean bastard Slob as well as Keenan Wynn's desperate sadsack diner owner. When she catches wind that her scientist boyfriend (the painfully dull Frank Lovejoy - come on Terry, get with the Wynn!) might be trading secrets with the red, the tiny food shack on the side of the road becomes the final battleground for American Liberty. Never has a short order cook been as creepy or as demented as Lee Marvin; this bear in human form ranks right up there with his Vince Stone Big Heat heavy as one of his finest villain roles. Edward & Mildred Dein deliver a crackerjack screenplay with witty, biting repartee between all the film's combatants. I'm honestly shocked I had never heard of this film before, but I'm thankful that Olive Films had the brains to finally bring Shack on 101 to blu ray. Certainly one of the best films I discovered this year. VF.
Lynne N (gb) wrote: Not sure what to make of this one. As a huge fan of Stanwyck I wanted to love it - especially as it's a Capra flick. But you can't escape the fact that, were the movie made today, the casting of a Swedish man as a Chinese general with a very dodgy accent would be inconceivable. Perhaps I'm being too picky but I found it hard to get past that. Also, despite the fact that both leads act their hearts out, I failed to feel the chemistry between them and their motivations were never very clear. However, the film deserves props for being daring enough to tackle the topic of interracial relationships in the 1930s - a step daring enough to get it banned in the UK!
Brett E (au) wrote: I usually despise Tom Hanks but I think this was his best performance ever. He literally carried the entire movie. And it worked. It was entertaining and unique. Definitely one worth catching at least once.
Jessica L (it) wrote: I don't know what to make of this movie, to love it or to hate it. This movie makes you uneasy because the event is so troubling and cold on its own. Steve Carell's portrayal of John du Pont is so well I hate him. It's a slow paced movie.
