Charlie L (nl) wrote: The Expendables isn't the kind of film that's meant to have a plot, let alone need one - its a summer blockbuster full of A-list stars, big, ballsy action and laden with huge explosions sure to entertain the average viewer. The film moves at such a pace that you don't really get time to stop and think about any kind of story featured in this very enjoyable action spectacular - this is what the movie does very well. Stallone, Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li are all at their trigger-happy best too.
Adam V (au) wrote: A unique way of glorifying 40's mob shooters with new age gangster tones. I recommend this to people who enjoy shoot 'em up type movies and for those who enjoy the cliche and easily remembered one liners. Thomas Jane is brilliant and Ving Rhames is freaking awesome. 5 stars ALL AROUND

Wesley W (jp) wrote: There is no point in talking about how bad this movie is because we all know it is crap and how unnecessary it was. A big pile of garbage is the only thing to say when talking about this movie.

Tim H (it) wrote: WHO DIDN'T WANT TO BE THIS KID!? A superhuman pitching machine that was 12. Shit, after this came out kids all over my neighborhood were trying to break their body parts in hopes of them healing in such a way that they could fire a ball through a concrete wall. Excellent kids movie!

Jeff B (de) wrote: Often hilarious (unintentional, I think) martial arts film starring David Carradine as a blind spiritual guide (and a few other characters) who helps Cord the Seeker on his quest to find the Book of All Knowledge that lies in the hands of Zetan the Wizard. The story was from Bruce Lee (who intended to star in it before he died) and James Coburn(!) and it??s pretty hilarious. It??s a typical 60s/70s kung fu movie with a lot of crazy location and fights. Killer monkeys, dickless men in tubs of oil, Roddy McDowall, martial artists with awesome mullets, Buddhist KKK members, this film??s got it all. The crazy thing is, supposedly this film is being remade soon. Maybe Eli Wallach and Christopher Lee could play the same roles, that would be priceless.
James H (fr) wrote: Solid and well made western, the ample budget shows. Great cast, well acted. Most any western with Glenn Ford is a good one. Great cinematography, More substance than the average western.
Manny C (jp) wrote: One of Warner's great black and white musicals, this one featuring a fresh-faced Ginger Rogers. Roger and two other ladies are determined to get financial backing for their dream show, and seem to get lucky, but their tentative benefactor's older brother isn't too crazy about them. Severely dated, but still a pleasure.
