Cirque du Soleil: Alegria

The Cirque du Soleil production of Alegria filmed live in Sydney, Australia.

A far cry from the dialogue-free circus performances Cirque du Soleil is known for, Alegria chronicles the fate of a small boy who has been forced into slavery. Eventually, he learns that in order to free himself and the other children, he must defeat a fire-breathing or an equally tough but decidedly more philosophical inner dragon. . Danny M (jp) wrote: This is a great film. The first 45 minutes is quite shot, but after that this film is amazing! Very weird film but loved it!

Cha t (fr) wrote: This movie is great. I love DeCillo (Moonlight in a Box, Johnny Suede) He does great incitful comedy out of real situations. This movie has a great ensemble cast that includes Marlo Thomas and Elizabeth Berkley who does a great job (she's acting here lol). Several other cameos and make this a hidden indie jem among big budget movies.

Anne F (us) wrote: This film was ahead of its time in its portrayal of a lonely elderly man who isn't wanted by his family and is ignored by pretty much everyone else. Walter Matthau was much too young to play the part, but is very convincing in his portrayal, so ignore his bad makeup and the horribly schmaltzy music and enjoy some great acting by all involved.

Christopher L (us) wrote: Historically important and also entertaining. Many acts of human arrogance occur throughout the film. Thankfully we have changed since then thanks to the beautiful works of Cousteau like "The Silent World."

Joshua G (it) wrote: Fascinating. Such an original film-maker. Fans of "Contagion" will enjoy this more intimate, exploration on paranoia & illness. Julianne Moore is divine.

Christina D (mx) wrote: Hello, My Name is Doris is one of those movies that gives you insight about the purpose of life. It's amazing how you can broaden who you are with the people you surround yourself with. She took chances and felt uncomfortable through out the film, but she was able to overcome her hold on her past and let go. She found herself and I think this film was amazing for that. Such a great cast as well...
