Bob W (fr) wrote: Finally! For years people have asked me what the worst movie I ever saw was. Now I know. Poor acting, embarrassing effects, bad makeup, nonsensical plot, comical understanding of faith, terrible direction, offensive to the point of anger, random idiocy, and stupid dialogue. Borrows from many genres (ninja, occult, spy, superhero, horror, zombie, sci-fi, B movie) yet manages to be the worst caricature of each at the same time. Cut from the wrong "cloth" (I couldn't help it), one is tempted to think this DVD is possessed by a demonic creature of offensive, unintentional and unnecessary black comedy. Holy grenades, its an exorcist superhero!

Thomas K (it) wrote: This was Ritchie's last hurrah when it came to the Cockney gangsters that he had made his bones on, and while the cast is first rate, the film is flashy but has a disjointed narrative. I still had a hell of a good time though.

Holly D (kr) wrote: Bravo to James Franco. The writing and direction of the movie were great. Unfortunately, I don't know if the story translated so well to film. There are so many indie movies like this. I think I would have preferred the story in book form.

Rich S (us) wrote: Watched this last night. I tolerated this version because it is one of my favorite stories and I collect all the film versions I can get my hands on. This one isn't awful, but the inclusion of the two little mice is too cute for me and takes away from the story. Overall, though, I think it's a good family version of a timeless story!

Tim M (es) wrote: The director is John Greyson. I would suspect, if it got a rating in the States, it would be R.

Tim R (it) wrote: Im sure it was all the rage back in the 80's... its just so out of touch now. Had its moments, iconic melody, beyond that, meh.

Blue D (br) wrote: I saw this one last night. The book is MUCH better, but the young William Hurt is hot hot hot! The plot got a little fuzzy (I fell asleep in the middle), but I will be watching this one again tonight! Definitely on my "To buy" list.

Shane D (es) wrote: What an absolute travesty. Not only is it incredibly sexist, it's plot is terrible. And the acting?!? Oh the acting!

Sharad Y (jp) wrote: Honestly speaking, I didn't understand what this movie is trying to show.

Daniel S (fr) wrote: Bogdanovichs paper moon is one of my all time favorite films, and last picture show is also real good, so i was interested to see is debut, and it's a winner, it works on 2 levels, one is a look at the film industry and what it was becoming and a once famous star's decline to mediocrity, karloff is great here, one of the few times he wasn't a ghoul/villain, playing himself essentially, on the other hand the film depicts the mind of a killer, he seems so nice and ordinary and calm, and that's what makes it so unnerving, I'm shocked this film was able to get made when it did, bogdanovich also proved to be a pretty good actor here, also playing a version of himself, i definitely recommend

Zach M (fr) wrote: Jean-Claude Van Damme hasn't made a good movie in decades. He just keeps acting in cheaply made movies in Europe that has crappy acting, poor choreography and a boring story that's been done before. He doesn't look bad for his age but unfortunately he has no ability to pick a good script.Brief nudity and lousy acting doesn't make worth watching Jean-Claude Van Damme, even for nostalgia.

Jason N (kr) wrote: Pretty good. Fairly clich (C) as far as sports flicks go

Donald D (gb) wrote: The directing is the worst part. Back when chaos cam was still in vogue. It ruins nearly all of what would have been otherwise fantastic action sequences. It's a fun action movie, all things considered.
