B-man doesn't have much to do since he doesn't know magic and just lobs a couple batarangs around every now and then. It's entertaining, though perhaps as not a fan of the more mystical DC characters I didn't enjoy this hugely, but it was fun.
Sylvia Q (au) wrote: A well-researched documentary depicting a real-life story of how a group of courageous foreigners in Nanjing collaborated to save thousands of Chinese during the siege of Japanese invasion. The story of John Rabe is particularly dramatic and remarkable. He was a compassionate and principled Nazi businessman who decided to stay in Nanjing setting up a safety zone in his mansion for the Chinese refugees. Mistakenly believing that Adolf Hitler was a compassionate leader, John Rabe delivered film rolls, photos and documents evidencing war crimes in Nanjing to him in the hope of curbing further ravage of the city. He was detained by the Nazis, and thereafter the Allied Army when the war ended. It must be really awful to be stranded in such agonizing dilemma with extreme distrust from both parties. A sense of despair must be haunting him throughout all the torturing interrogration and incarcenations: is life worth living when all your good principles and moral values turn around against you? From a rich businessman, he seemed to plunge from heaven to hell where he and his family lived in poverty and starvation. But this is also a classic story of "what goes around comes around". The Nanjing survivors never forgot John Rabe and they reciprocated with a monthly provision of financial support. His former residence in Nanjing houses a museum that commemorates the heroic efforts of John Rabe and others. John Rabe should be resting in real peace, having in mind at his final moment that his faith in love, humanity and self-sacrifice have triumphed over all evils. On a personal note, I will try not to read anything about the Nanjing Massacre in the near future. It is simply too painful and depressing...

It showcases step by step, as well as a suggesting a possible motivation for the reason he did it which is clich to say the least, which has something to do with the suppression and segregation of African natives from white Caucasian laws. Andre gets caught at some point during the movie, and then escapes again recruiting two other people. All I can say is that it's strictly by the book which is no different than any other heist movie made before and perhaps after it.On the commercial cover, it says it's like a Quentin Tarantino movie, but when you actually watch it it's nothing but... meaning that, one can almost predict everything that happened here. And I was also quite disappointed that I wasn't able to see the actual picture of the real Andre Stanton until after I went to the "Special features" which would've been much more effective had it been shown on the credits. 2 out of 4 stars

Not often am I stunned by the beauty of a woman but Brooke left me speechless. Two, to see Tom Cruise (albeit for only a few seconds) in his first appearance on the big screen. Other than these two jewels Endless Love is just a screwed up love story with bad acting and little connection with the viewers. I wrote there are only two real reasons to view Endless Love and while this is true I will mention that their was a strange pull or connection that this mess of a movie had on me. Not sure what it was but for some reason I liked this movie more than I should have even if it was a pretty poorly done movie.
Jennifer D (gb) wrote: One of those things I had to see. And I must say that if it didn't make you slightly sick, you need therapy.Anyway, this is my second (I think) Malle film and something tells me I liked the other one better. The loonngg reaction shots were questionable only because the actor didn't actually emote more, just blank stare for the most part. But kudos to not only shields and her parents, but Malle for doing it. Having a 12 year old naked would get most people laughed out on their ass.
Carlos M (br) wrote: A wonderful yet inevitably condensed adaptation of Harper Lee's sublime novel that, despite harmed a bit by some of the changes, is heartfelt, moving and always true to the soul of her story, with Gregory Peck in a fantastic performance even if a bit stiff in the trial scene.

It's got a killer cast, Richard Jenkins, Linda Hunt, Brian Dennehy, Jeff Goldblum, John Cleese, Kevin Kline, Kevin Costner, Danny Glover and more! It is part action, dram, comedy, has a good pace and is just entertaining. Give it a try if you've never seen it!
