Jason D (es) wrote: In a small, poor town down deep in the heart of Romania...uh...I mean "the west", the residents are taken by surprise when giant robotic like spiders begin invading the town and killing everyone in their path. It's up to train-robbing murderer James Marsters (Oh Spike from Buffy, how you have fallen!) to ban the survivors together and make every effort to destroy them and escape town. This proves easier said than done, especially when the mother-ship drops in and starts spitting out hundreds more aliens. This alien/western cross-genre mash-up has it's good moments, which are purely dumb entertainment moments, but other than that, High Plains Invaders is more Sci-Fi channel drivel that comes off as more hilarious than thrilling. I will admit the story is somewhat inventive (despite it's War of the Worlds overtones), and hell, I'm always a fan of period pieces (despite the high inaccuracies). Everyone in the cast seems to be taking this film more serious than they should, which can be really silly at times, but then again it makes for some slightly better acting, especially on Marsters behalf. All in all, this was a comcial time killer. Don't watch it if you know you'll hate it. Be smart about your rentals! Purely for the fans of cheesy low-budget Sci-fi channel nonsense.

Ashley W (ca) wrote: I have seen some bad DTV movies but my god this has to be one of the worst! And to take one of my favourite actors and put him into this crapfest (which is what I'm blaming his uninterested performace on) is an actual crime!. I bought this, like many others I'm sure, because Snipes was on the front and now I have watched it I feel physically violated. AWFUL script, AWFUL acting (from all), AWFUL directing. I feel sick.
