(ag) wrote: A surprisingly underrated movie! It is certainly thoughtful, even if there are a few holes here and there... The main attraction is hands down Cillian Murphy. He is fantastic. The supporting roles are also good, so as far as acting goes this movie is excellent. It most likely won't exceed expectations, but it certainly won't shoot them down.

(br) wrote: Return to Never Land is a cheaply made, underachieving sequel, and is nowhere close to the original in any way. But, I suppose it'll make the little ones happy.
(br) wrote: The style of this fiim haunts one, it calls for multiple watchings. The pace demands attention. The "schi-schi" music of the language reinforces the value of subtitles. It would be unlikely that dubbing could convey the subtlelty of the dialogue. Understated in many ways similar to the quieter moments of Coppola's "Godfather"

While Titanosaurus gets more of a spotlight in this than Godzilla or Mechagodzilla, I can't argue too much of MechaG being badder than the first. I didn't care too much when I first saw it, but eventually the film grew on me. The ending could have been better, considering we wouldn't see Godzilla again for almost 10 years.
(de) wrote: Gene Hackman plays a bad man on a quick descent into true evil in this dirty, gritty, ugly western. Oliver Reed is the leader of a salty bunch of toughs and outlaws who are hardly good folk, but seem downright chivalrous in comparison. The film is hamstrung a bit by the wooden Candice Bergen. A great cast of character actors and some pretty good desolate filming locations help bring the mythological west to life. The violence is sometimes extreme at times and there??s a callous brutality that makes it pretty disturbing.

(jp) wrote: Outstanding! The easiest to watch but my second favorite. The nerdy couple makes me smile every time I watch it.
