Riley H (nl) wrote: "Hell" is a great and provocative collage. "Purgatory" is an effective little featurette. Not sure what I think of "Paradise."

Dann M (mx) wrote: Murphy and Nolte are together again for Another 48 HRS., a thrilling action packed adventure. As Reggie's prison release date approaches Ganz's bother comes looking for revenge, but detective Cates gets to him first and enlists his help in finding the mysterious crime figure known as the Iceman; who put out the hit on Reggie. The plot's a little less contrived this time, and the storytelling's fairly solid. Additionally, the action's especially well-shot and adds a lot of intensity to the film. Featuring a stronger cast and more action, Another 48 HRS. outdoes the original.

Anthony W (fr) wrote: The film that gave the late, great Lam Ching-Ying his most fondly remembered role remains a cool action comedy horror with plenty of spirit busting and hopping vampires (not to mention some funny situation comedy moments). Lam is also ably supported by the likes of Chin Siu-Ho (why did he never get a decent starring role?), Moon Lee and Ricky Hui. Although some jokes do not really travel all that well, this is still a riot from start to finish!

Randy T (it) wrote: This has to be one of the oddest concepts to ever hit the silver screen. As a fan of alien invasion films, I've grown accustomed to having my space invaders with bulging eyes, spindle-like tentacles and nasty dispositions. Not so with The Monolith Monsters. Here, the threat comes in the form of dark crystals that grow large, topple over, and grow large again.Compared to other sci-fi offerings of the same era, this one's a little lame. There's not much to frighten or shock you here. These aren't creatures with malice of forethought. They are not sent here to destroy us, or even save us. They are rocks that will crush you if you're foolish enough to be anywhere near them when they fall over. I have to give Hollywood a measured amount of credit for at least attempting to give us something unique and unusual, even if it comes up a little short.
