Michael F (fr) wrote: Most underestimated movie ever. You watch this guy, Richard Proenneke, COMPLETELY build his lifestyle: from his whole cabin to cutting out his own little wooden spoon. This guy wastes NOTHING and is the true definition of humanity's Man's-man.

Michael A (ru) wrote: This film is more insulting than Life is Beautiful was. Especially copying the same kind of formula with comedy during the Holocaust.

Dickie R (jp) wrote: The movie depicts the typical life of the affluent colonial masters and their randy lifestyles. Good exposure of the ills of the 'Empire'.

Matt M (mx) wrote: The story of a woman starting a new life in a new country, more precisely in Tuscany, Italy. The film is aimed at a feminine audience, with its mixture of sloppy romance and tales of female bonding, but although it makes use of the same old formulas of the restrictive genre, it makes the most of its setting by glorifying it with a wonderful and poetic portrait and constant tributes to Tuscany's beauty. Diane Lane is also great and magnetic presence in the lead role.
