A return to a more realistic spy thriller, "For Your Eyes Only" is one of the best Bond films of them all.A British spy trawler, sinks in Albanian waters with the top-secret ATAC (Automated Targeting Attack Communicator), a device used to transmit orders to nuclear subs. The Soviets are also trying to recover the ATAC, and it's a race to get to the wreck first. Bond's travels take him from Spain, to Cortina d'Ampezzo in Northern Italy, to the waters off of Albania, and then Greece. Along the way he must battle Aris Kristatos (Julian Glover), with the help of Melina Havelock (Carole Bouquet) and smuggler Milos Columbo (Topol).Great acting all the way around, with Glover and Topol giving really good performances. It also has some of the best underwater camera work since "Thunderball" in 1965. Plus, another one of the best theme songs by Sheena Easton.
Riley F (mx) wrote: I'm sure this movie was awesome back in the day, and it still is, but the lack of character development leaves you wondering why you should bother caring whether or not these characters make it out. Also, the Warden was having a good setup to be the "Villain" of the film, I just with they would have fleshed him out more. Worth checking out, but only if you really like Clint Eastwood movies.

Luke N (us) wrote: Are there really women this hopelessly romantic and irritatingly optimistic running around this world? Looking on the bright side of life is one thing...frying your retinas and getting skin cancer from prolonged exposure is another altogether. Otherwise...not a bad flick.
Al M (br) wrote: Brilliant surrealistic exploration of the artist and his/her relation to pain, death, life, and dreams. Beautiful and compelling images follow one upon another as Cocteau constructs a dreamlike world akin to the ones Bunuel builds in Un Chien Andalou and L'Age D'or, but Cocteau does so with more of narrative arc. Techinically a talkie, Cocteau's film still relies mostly upon its breathtaking images to convey its stories and themes, the ultimate theme being the marks that art leaves upon the artist, the wounds that are so deep that they can even colonize other spaces and people.
