You won't find any example of deep complex storytelling or great performances in this flick. However Ray Harryhausen's effects hold up remarkably well and the creature he creates is remarkably expressive and surprisingly sympathetic despite its destruction. That alone makes this movie worth a watch for fans of monster movies
