Konrad R (kr) wrote: Since centuries Koreans are known as best archers in the world. Making a sniper movie, placing action in 17th century and replacing rifle with a bow is a brilliant idea to make an action movie. One can complain that it might be done a little bit better, the ending is melodramatic in very Korean way too. But eventually this one is quite exciting to watch and surely gets recommendation from me.

It has a strong Buddhist message involved in the film (Karma may determine our future but we can still change it if we try) and a tragic ending. Despite the little flaws in some of the sub story lines and ridiculous actions, it provided something that not only entertains, but also educational.

The dialogue is also very fast, furthering the impression that this story is being done more as an excuse to film the ruined city than tell this tale. Around the forty-five minute mark, though, some genuine emotion starts to seep in and make the ending sad (but not as tragic as it could have been).
