The scene towards the end when babies are delivered shows a diversity of different families, including lesbian, gay, asian, black and even a single mother who looks very emotional, paired with a fantastic soundtrack, it always makes me well up.Brilliant film.

Viktor B (fr) wrote: A powerful uplifting film that is based in moving universal drama as much as it is in the mythology of the Maori people. The story and drama of the film all at once seem down to earth and mythic. This film speaks not only from and to the hearts of the Maori, but to the hearts of all people. Well crafted and simply beautiful.

There's more drama and little or no comedy, and I didn't get what's with 'The Love Letter' and who wrote it. It was good seeing Ellen DeGeneres' acting performance here, though.

Rolf H (us) wrote: A near perfect mix of homage and satire of 70's Blaxploitation movies. I've seen it at least a dozen times and it keeps getting funnier. One friend with whom I watched it actually thought it was from the 70's.
