Bassem M (nl) wrote: A very slow and charming movie was a pleasure to watch a far cry from the Hollywood loud action movies

Khaled M (gb) wrote: Isolation was his best medicine until she came into his life, nice Israeli drama.

Gavin M (br) wrote: This is without a doubt one of the best movies I have ever seen! Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench give powerful performances. And Cate Blanchett is without a doubt my favorite actress as she is just so awesome at everything she does. She is the Meryl Streep of this generation and that is saying a lot!

Jack A (nl) wrote: The Messengers is a culmination of nearly every horror movie before it, but still manages to scrape together a handful of effective shocks, and provides a decent story to go along with it.

P D (ru) wrote: Errol Morris has taken the story of a bespectacled man with the personality of an empty walnut shell and made it into in documentary that is unique and captivating. For that, he deserves praise. However, the presentation is overly manipulative to the point where it is almost dishonest, by bringing the audience to appreciate the coffee-slurping simpleton who seems to have dedicated his life to humane execution (if that's possible) and keeping the hands and minds of death row guards clean and sane. Fred's underwhelming charisma spreads its wings and gains altitude with his detailed description of the similarities between the results of using an electric chair and roasting a chicken. Just when you get comfortable with the elfin purveyor of death machines, the documentary takes a sharp turn and shows you that Fred is a complete moron whose is ready to sell his pseudo-science soul to any special interest group willing to stroke his ego. As a few other reviewers mentioned, Errol Morris really cops out in not confronting Fred with the vast shortfalls in methodology. What kind of attention ho would star in a documentary about himself as a holocaust denier? If they had included interviews with Fred's grade-school classmates, he surely would have been the one who ate glue. The lack of confrontation with Fred holds this back from its full potential. Interesting documentary but would never make it on 60 Minutes, but Juan Valdez gives it two donkey ears and a tail.

Shad Y (mx) wrote: I'm pretty sure everyone involved with this was high when they made it. It looked like they had fun, but it looked like leftover "Tales from the Darkside" episodes.

Claudio F (jp) wrote: I don't get the bad reviews and negativity it was interesting and well done, though it fails towards the end, a bit anti climatic in the sense that doesn't make a whole lot of sense even for a sci fi-the ending could have been a lot more interesting and dark, as it was the first half of the movie.Still, a good movie if you are into the genre.

Simon P (nl) wrote: Sexy sexiness. Alright, it's mostly violence. But Salma Hayek is supremely sexy.

Leonard D (de) wrote: A brilliant horror comedy which only the talented Edgar Wright could pull off! If you're a fan of zombies, then I highly recommend this one!
