Jillian L (fr) wrote: This French-Canadian movie is actually the basis for the 2013 Vince Vaughn movie Delivery Man. (And by basis, it looks exactly the same, just with different actors and in English. i'll have to see to really find out though.) What surprised me the most about this was how heartfelt it was. The "slacker turning his life around" thing is done a lot, but mostly for comedic effect. Don't get me wrong, parts of this are quite funny, but you actually find yourself really rooting for him. Patrick Huard is great as David, aka Starbuck. He balanced the comedy and the drama of the script really well. Overall, this is a cute movie that makes me want to watch the American version. And that's saying something.

Manu G (au) wrote: No one makes it alone. Good movie! Maggie Gyllenhaal really carried this film on a very uncomfortable film to watch. The story was very good but difficult to watch in a way because of the main idea of a recovering mother trying to reach her daughter and reunite with her. Great acting!Sherry Swanson returns home to New Jersey after serving a three year prison sentence. Eager to reestablish a relationship with her young daughter, Sherry soon discovers that coming back to the world she left behind is far more difficult than she had planned.

Matt M (mx) wrote: A British auctioneer gets involved with a school teacher, a relationship that entangles him in the workings of the mob family. A comedy working on stereotypes which, in spite of the fun performances by the usual British charmer Hugh Grant and perennial tough guy James Caan, is much too conventional to be anything other than an average comedy with its fair share of slow moments.

Red L (br) wrote: My wife makes me watch DD. Too bad that this was Jennifer Grey's defining role as an actor. It is a movie I don't mind watching over. I like the music, and the story is uplifting. Interesting comment by Mr Kellerman that this style of holidays is losing popularity.

Eric R (ag) wrote: Sooo good. Robert Ryan is does a great job in this film. The script is one of the best and its really a great story. Its very well shot and engaging with an amazingly unnerving ending.
Charles P (us) wrote: Body of Evidence is a dull courtroom drama where the case itself is laughable. When we're not in the courtroom, we're subjected to kinky sex and even more laughs. I found out later this wasn't a comedy.
