Kimberley S (ag) wrote: Like a B movie. I couldn't believe it was for real! The sound effects are just hilariously lame and the costumes aren't the least bit scary. The DOP needs sacking and the acting is high school standard. So bad it was funny, and I just had to watch until the end to see what 'scary character' would appear next! Shame really, great idea for a film, just very badly made.

Kyle M (au) wrote: Even though the Black and White series is the least favorable of the Pokmon anime, this first installment of the respective series' trio of films put itself apart from that thought by being the third best yet of the films, as well being the freshest restart. It seems the equally good, well-done dual films attempted to replicate the superior ninth entry's factors with success but stayed below. However, what was attached to the heartening warmth factor was putting in some actual sad moments as build-ups towards the pay-off, as it'd recaptured the cute factor seen in the Advanced series. Not only that particular factor being at its best, the animation and the protagonist's spotlight both were at their best as well, which makes this the best yet of its rating in the anime's film series. David S (nl) wrote: To Rome with Love feels very staged, rehearsed and unnatural. The first half of the film raises a lot of questions and makes it difficult to be completely engrossed in the story. The second half helps explain all the absurd and complete the cycle of unnatural events. However, it plays more like a play than a movie, and everything feels very scripted and lacks certain emotions. It seems the actors were either miscast, or didn't know how to deliver their words, either way, it's a fault of Woody's. To Rome with Love is a movie that you want to enjoy, but struggle at times.

It is such a fun, exciting romp, and it really makes you care about the characters. It is super original, creative and funny. It has a great plot. It doesn't fit into one genre. It's sort of Sci-fi/Comedy/Action/Adventure/Paranormal/Horror/Bizzaro/Crime. Watching it is like being hit in the face with a brick of awesomeness. Read the book first, though. That is what my husband and I did, and we loved the movie to death. But we recommended it to a friend, and he watched it without having read the book, and he said it was convoluted and hard to figure out what was going on. But if you read the book first, it fills in the gaps perfectly. That is what happens when a 500-page book is adapted into a 90-minute movie. Some content has to be left out. It should've been made into several movies, like Lord of the Rings. :)

Ed C (kr) wrote: As I flip through channels I inevitably come across the last hour of this movie. The scene at the cemetery is as good as it gets for an inspiriational scene. Those reviewers who blow this movie off do not get it. This is a great story about the resiliency of the human spirit. I

Chris T (gb) wrote: Cheap and not very well acted, but the basic idea is superb, the gore is mostly well-executed, and it stuck in my head for a long time afterwards (always a good sign, in my book).

Jeremy D (ag) wrote: The saddest part about Aileen Wuornos' life is that all of this could have been avoided. A little girl being repeatedly raped by her grandfather and brother then thrown into a foster system that neglected and eventually abandoned her left Aileen a very slim chance of developing into a mentally competent adult. Was she guilty of her crimes? Absolutely. But a closer look into her life reveals a lost, lonely little girl amidst all that anger and madness.

Dan L (it) wrote: My favourite of the favourites at all time!!! =) Yes, no doubt about it. Perfect storyline, perfect class, dramatic actions and love story, trumendously romantic, plus the death of Lesile Cheung and the retirement of Takako Tokiwa, even more heart-taken. Takako Tokiwa and Leslie Cheung are the best.

Li K (nl) wrote: Better than I remembered, or maybe the extended edition is a better cut, or maybe both. I think I had this one pretty well combined with Conquest in my memory. This one didn't have as much going on as I'd like either, but it was far less grim. I don't know that a crying statue is a satisfying end to the series, I'm pretty sure I agree with the original writers on that one. I don't hate it with as much passion as they did, but I also didn't write the thing and have my ending changed. Either way I feel like the movies started so strong that they deserved a stronger more profound ending. They were going for a circular story, and I feel like there's still a missing chunk between this and the first, though I dunno what I would want to be in it. I think I subscribe to the notion that if all of your movie's budget is eaten up by make-up and costuming and there's nothing left to tell the story you'd like to with it's probably past time to call it quits. But it's not painful to watch. Just doesn't add so much.

Teemu P (es) wrote: So refreshing to see a good romantic comedy for a change! I can't even remember any romcoms that would be nearly as entertaining as this one. Though it must be partly because of the lovely Mila Kunis (who was just perfect)...
