Kerie C (fr) wrote: There is something so refreshing about a thriller that doesn't try to have it all come out OK in the end with a happy ending for the hero. Though I probably never will get used to serious Indian movies throwing an upbeat-sounding song into what is essentially a somber and dangerous moment in the film. But that's what I watch Indian films for -- because American ones are so boring and predictable for the most part.

Buraian M (ca) wrote: This movie has no real plot, and is basically an hour and a half long stand up act with sets. I loved it! =D

Martin T (mx) wrote: Oh joy. Another John Ford western. It didn't annoy me too much, probably because it doesn't have John Wayne in it, but it is pretty simplistic and forgettable. Most of the characters are bland western archetypes, none more bland than Ben Johnson in the lead. Only Ward Bond stands out... his speech is peppered with a lot of ridiculous "dadblasted"s and "consarnit"s but he does command the screen, and his character is the most complex. The photography is the definite highlight, Ford's beautiful landscapes looking gorgeous as ever (the scenes shot on sets, however, look kinda tacky). The moments of humor are hit and miss... more miss than hit, I'd say, but the misses aren't too groan-worthy. I could have done without the square dancing, which comes right after line dancing and Irish step dancing in terms of lame dances. Overall, I didn't hate the movie but I doubt much of it will stick with me.

Phil C (ca) wrote: A fantastic movie. People living their lives in 1943. The family is very funny and very real. I enjoyed the radio personalities the best. And kinda wished for a little more in depth exploration into their lives. I'm not a huge Woody Allen fan. But this is one of his better works.

Jim F (jp) wrote: Good to see Benicio Del Toro doing what he does best. That's being off his head on drugs aka Fear and Loathing. I spent the whole movie wondering if it was Halle Berry i was watching because the part looked like it was made for her. It was her. There was something a bit twisted about this drama, and a little bit ridiculous. Having kids, losing a husband and Taking in a heroin addict, and then asking him to 'help her sleep', had me cringing a bit. By the end of it all i come to the conclusion that it was all about 'letting go'.
