With Glenn Close, Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden, George Segal, Eric Bogosian, Jesse Bradford, Rufus Wainwright, and Isabella Rosselini.

(fr) wrote: True Lies is one of the best action movies ever. The suspense, action, and violence in here make this movie awesome, I love it.
(au) wrote: AMAZING After too many people recommended me to watch the most expensive Chinese film ever made, I finally did. To be honest my mind was blown away, this is a masterpiece. To start, when you hear of a China Kung-Fu action film you think of the normal unbearable films. But hero was awesome, each fight sequence was well done especially the lake fight sequence. Every shot was worth the time put on it.The production design done in this film was very good. I had to watch the film twice to get the plot. The story was a bit hard to understand. But by watching the second time, the story unfolds in your mind and you can confidently make a judgement about the film. The pacing of the film was well done especially in the fight scenes they were not too fast nor too slow unlike most Hollywood films. Now it's time to name the best scene, this was the fight scene between the two ladies. At the end of the scene the color of the leaves turn to red nice play Finally it's a shame I never had a chance to watch the movie in the cinemas, despite that it is finally one of my best films of all time.
(au) wrote: The controversy surrounding the way the Turks are depicted is not without reason, but the film is quite engaging (with a wonderful score) as a disturbing portrayal of hell as a Turkish prison, showing the ugly conditions faced by a very unfortunate man in a horrible situation.
(es) wrote: The picture usage here is great. I love the dog. The ending was a bit unexpected. I like that part a lot!
(fr) wrote: This is a strange film to describe, it's a film full of threat and menace without anything too horrific actually happening. Over the cause of a couple of days ones respectful English teacher loses the man he is in a haze of booze and one particularly violent hunting trip. It's a well directed and acted film, you have a sense of forboding throughout without actually knowing what the big threat might actually be. Worth watching for something a little different.
(br) wrote: I've had a mixed reaction to Robert Wise's "late noir". True, it is a rather bleak bank heist film (which I like) and it provides some social commentary about the horribleness of racism (which is important) but somehow it has little or no "edge". Robert Ryan is brutal and a loser, Harry Belafonte is cool (but not really a loser), and Ed Begley is weirdly charismatic as the ex-cop ringleader, but Wise's style seems to slow the picture down (despite his montage editing), aiming for some grandeur perhaps, that distorts the film's central story about a few desperate losers on the down and out trying to make a big score to solve their problems.
(it) wrote: A dumb film, not even close to the original. Dolph Lundren is NOT an actor.
(kr) wrote: 'Taxi Driver' is a disturbingly powerful look at the spiralling descent Into a comfortable madness for a war vet disgusted with the society he's returned to, made always engaging by Robert De Niro's solid performance.
(de) wrote: It has the usual way of western music being spirited, the occasional structure that ends in a pay-off of satisfaction, and the spotlight being given to A-list western star John Wayne and Montgomery Clift at his debut, but the scale of this particular western was done and handled really well through a nice presentation that makes this one of the finest westerns.
