Claire M (it) wrote: Something a lot of the reviews I see scrolling through this site a missing the most important things about American Honey! This is a coming of age story with a protagonist who is a poor woman of color. I could relate to her because the way her character is written and acted is more realistic than any teenage female character I've seen in a movie. She is sexually assaulted without it defining her, taken advantage of, and has her period. It is also beautifully shot and has a lot of interesting characters--some played by real teenagers who had never acted before. I also disagree that the movie was too long; in fact, I wanted more.
Grant K (nl) wrote: Although Ghandi paints himself in a totally positive light, this is still one of the most brilliant and daring documentaries I've ever seen, and it has an emotional heart; where Spurlock and Moore are know it all professors, (not to say they're not great film makers) Ghandi illustrates that he doesn't have all the answers. And that's the point.

Michael S (us) wrote: An ungodly train wreck of a film that must be seen to be believed. It has exactly one, ONE, watchable scene, and that's because of Christopher Walken (who's clearly out of his mind in the scene).
Nelson R (ca) wrote: High Art? Almost. Lisa Cholodenko's feature directorial debut craftily depicts the fragile professional and passionate personal relationship between two women. The women are beautifully developed characters that are extremely recognizable without being commonplace. The actresses portraying these women drop all vanity just like Cholodenko drops all sympathy as she chronicles the women's few moments together. I wanted the women to be together professionally so that the artist could be encouraged and truly inspired and the editor could get her big break, but I wasn't completely sold on the romance; they almost got me there though.

Lee M (it) wrote: Between a 7/10 and 8/10, it's a fascinating concoction, beautifully presented, one that even manages to incorporate some humor to punctuate and surround the peculiar chain of events that make up the film. The end result is a contemplative exercise that??s highly engrossing.

Emily B (fr) wrote: A somewhat underrated Bergman film, made in Germany during his tax exile from Sweden. The film starts in colour, with a brutal murder by the main character. What follows next is a series of non chronological scenes before the crime and interrogations after the crime, all illustrating the main characters troubles and what drove him to the murder. Visually the film is beautiful thanks to Sven Nykvist, especially the black and white cineamatography (which 90% of the film is). Plus there are some brilliant surreal dream sequences.
Matthew C (br) wrote: "I do all sorts of things when I'm tight." Classic British pulp hero, Hugh 'Bulldog' Drummond gets a cheeky Bond style film adaptation. Occasionally funny, often delightfully awkward, and constantly condescendingly chauvinistic, Deadlier Than the Male is a great deal of fun. Chock full of 'That Guy' actors, beautiful women, and deadly assassins (who also happen to be among the beautiful women). And the crazy final chess match almost feels like something out of The Avengers. Great stuff. Unfortunately, Johnson isn't the most charming or dynamic of leads, but he's passable.
