Regi H (nl) wrote: The genre was spoofed once again hilariously! It does borrow a lot from its predecessor in terms of plot but the jokes are so damn funny. It makes fun of the cliches of horror movies in different ways than the previous film so the jokes never get stale! And hey, they killed off Jamie Kennedy, what more could you ask for?

Ben B (kr) wrote: Across the Universe is directed by Julie Taymor and is a love story structured around a soundtrack of songs from the Beatles. There really isn't much to say about this except that it just didn't work for me. As interesting as it might sound, Across the Universe is a pretty run-of-the-mill story covered up by poppy versions of familiar hits. I'm sorry, but a dramatic cover of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" doesn't hold a candle to the original. This movie reminded me a lot of Rock of Ages, though it isn't nearly as big of a disaster. As one who appreciates music, I'm not opposed to covers of famous songs, but, like an old movie being remade, there has to be something new brought to the table to justify its existence. Across the Universe's soundtrack is full of unjustified remakes performed by forgettable actors in an overall forgettable movie. With a run-time of over 2 hours, this movie drags on and on until finally ending with the cheese being applied heavily. Even if you dig musical movies, you can find way better options than Across the Universe.Final grade: D+-Ben

Matthew B (de) wrote: Nelson Mandela: "Forgiveness liberates the soul. It removes fear. That is why it is such a powerful weapon". The film tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa's rugby team to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa's underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match. The acting in the movie was brilliant and the directing by Clint Eastwood was nothing short as fantastic. But movie goes drag in most of the scenes and the movie is kind of forgettable to be honest.
