Trex A (de) wrote: This is a beautiful, heartbreaking, sweet love story, with terrific performances. All battles start somewhere and seem hopeless in the beginning. The moral is to never give up.

James R (jp) wrote: This movie has an interesting premise: placing sex, a fairly taboo yet very important relationship topic, on par with breakfast, something normal and blase to which no one gives a second thought. Very naturally and even nonchalantly, it touches on orgasms, exes, homoeroticism, homophobia, fantasies, masturbation, jealousy and swinging (almost every aspect of sex but BDSM). It explores sex as uniter, divider and experiment; how it can bring couples closer together or drive them further apart, and how it relates to love and romance. It has some interesting metaphors--for instance, when the men of each principal couple compare lunch orders, it is clear they behave the same ways in the restaurant and in the bedroom. (One recommends the "Denver omelet," which is spicier and riskier; the other claims that while he looks over the whole menu, he always ends up ordering the "club sandwich," something plain and safe.) Moreover, it does all these things with a minimum of actual sex scenes and almost no nudity. Unfortunately, all this clever erotic filmmaking suffers from being cerebral and detached. It was difficult to relate to either of the couples, and the buildup to their trying group sex with each other (and denoument following it) was just not that engaging. The primary actors and locales were nondescript, and the supporting characters were hard to believe. So not a bad movie, really, but generally forgettable.

Pierluigi P (ca) wrote: Good film about decisions that seem little but can alter relations on many different levels among co-workers. Sort of a commentary about hipocrisy and staying true to your position, wheter you have something or nothing to lose. the low budget and inexperience shows, but the acting and great dialogue make up for the rest.

Piyush A (au) wrote: Amazing movie that shows life in Iran after revolution. Shows the beauty of people there especially kids. The struggles of common man and child in Iran. There were some parts that were unanswered; possibly because they were gaps in script but not enough to take away from its beauty.

David C (br) wrote: 95/100A strange, fascinating melodrama as much about post-WWII life as it is about affairs and love triangles. The dualities continue beyond its purposes and number of suitors, however- it throws itself wholeheartedly into both heightened and realistic sensibilities, and actually pulls that off, believe it or not. Kenyon establishes the resulting tone early and with aplomb by introducing itself with a romantic flourish of a musical score, then revealed to be a song playing on a radio and promptly switched off.Kenyon, for the most part, maintains an ambiguity that constantly keeps one on their feet, so a bit of dissapointment results when the ending leaves things on a pretty wrapped-up note, especially coming right after a moment that feels like an ending suitable for the film's own tastes. Ah, well; this is one of those marvelous films that makes one wish for perfection.

Victor O (jp) wrote: A great propaganda film focusing on the ordinary people changing their lives to train and fight the Germans. All about the best ideals of democratic society.....heavy handed in that respect, but if people actually worked together that way today, well it WOULD be a better world. The Germans are incidental, the struggles of the individuals to become a professional fighting force and keep their humanity is the driving force of the film.
