(nl) wrote: This movie is really dissapointing.First of all, this movie is extraordinarily clichd. Now they think they can just put in a movie that is "emotional" and expect a miracle and money. Not with this. They try to hard to try to get you to cry, or at least be emotional. It's almost laughable as they (once again) think they can make an emotional movie and have everyone like it. Guess what, it doesn't work.Secondly, it's boring. There's just pointless scenes to try to extend the movie longer and longer. Megan and Patrick make brief appearances in the movie, and they are the ones the movie is about! By the middle, you forget about the disease, and it's almost like they don't want you to care about the disease. But if that's what they intended on doing, they did a good job.Lastly, it doesmt feel like a movie. Just random scenes, the wanna-be emotional scenes, and has that hallmark channel original feel to it.Overall, this movie missed what should've been an easy opportunity to showcase Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford. Boring, unnecessary, and tries to be emotional, this movie misses in every way possible.

If you like that whole western "stranger comes to town seeking vengeance, but ends up in a bigger struggle with an unexpected ally" kind of movie, then this hits the mark. Interesting fight scene, some tongue in cheek moments, and an old story told in a kinda new way make this a fun story to watch.

(au) wrote: Tank Girl is a strange film to watch, but not in an interesting way. I don't know how to sum up what I just watched. From what I gathered, the film takes place in the year 2033, where a comet has wiped out most of civilization with water being a scarce element. When her boyfriend is killed and one of her friends are taken by Kesslee (played by Malcolm McDowell), Rebecca Buck (aka Tank Girl) must find a way to defeat the bad guy and rescue her little friend. As I said before I began this review, this is a VERY strange film. It takes place in a world with really weird creatures, including these bizarre and stupid half human/ half kangaroos. The make up on these creatures was just awful. Plus, I didn't even like the idea of these kangaroo things when they introduced them. It was just stupid. With the kangaroos out of the way, I can honestly say that Tank Girl is not a good film at all. The acting done by Lori Petty as the title character is just awful. She got really annoying at points and I don't think that I ever got used to it. Even Malcolm McDowall was getting tiresome at points in the story. Also not working for the film is the plot. This was a poorly written script with almost no interesting character arcs and just ends up being completely boring. It does pick up at certain points, but that's not until about an hour into the film, which is barely worth the wait. Don't waste your time with Tank Girl. This is just a poorly written, poorly acted, and poorly directed mess from the director of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (which was also not that good).
