(br) wrote: This one was hard to watch. It's budget horror at it's finest (worst?) and uses some very cheap looking shots. I'm pretty sure some of the "Croc" shots were stock footage from the discovery channel or animal planet. It's probably the worst horror movie I've watched recently.

Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse give amazing performances. The script is still good. Rouben Mamoulian did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed this motion picture because of the romance. Silk Stockings is a must see.

(br) wrote: Good biography on Jim Thorpe. For those who don't know aren't familiar, he was one of the greatest athlete's in the world during the 1910's and 20's. He won olympic medals as well as playing major league baseball, and football. He was part of the Canton Bulldogs when they won the first ever NFL Championship. The movie focuses on how he was stripped of his medels. It's a good movie that really dives deep into Thorpe's Native-American ties. Could have been a little longer, and focused more on his pro career.

The costume styles and various vehicles really set the visual tone for the entire film. I love the editing sequences of the different stages of the couple's relationship and of course, the Henry Mancini theme song: a very bittersweet melody.
