Harry T (ru) wrote: This got to be one of the funniest Korean comedies released this year. Initially, I didn??t expect much out from this sleeper hit in Korea but I was caught by surprise. I enjoyed the funny moments tremendously as well as touched by the sentimental parts of the movie. I remembered the main actor, Cha Tae-Hyeon from another well known Korean hit movie, My Sassy Girl (2001). This is a story about a thirty-something former pop singer, Hyun Su (Cha Tae-Hyeon) who hosts a popular radio talk show as a DJ. Even though he is not as popular as before, he tries very hard to retain his image and get back into the lime light. His enjoys his bachelorhood pretty much and lives in a modern / posh apartment. One day, a girl, Jung Nam (Pak Bo-Yeong) dropped by at his door step, claiming to be his daughter. She even has a son, a little mischievous boy, Ki Dong (Hwang Suk-Hyun) whom tags with her. In a blink of an eye, Hyun Su becomes a father and a grandfather. Suddenly, he can see his career over if the media finds out about this scandal. Jung Nam is a single mother who dreams to be a singer. She wants to live with her father, Hyun Su. Ki Dong, the grandson, is a cheeky little boy who sleep walks and sneezes a lot. Just after a few days the two newcomers stays with him, Hyun Su started to loose his minds. He has to keep this underwrap but there is a nosy reporter who loves to dig out scandals and dirt of Korean artistes. I love the funny scenes between Hyun Su and his adorable grandson, Ki Dong. Cha Tae-Hyeon acted brilliantly in My Sassy Girl and here, he gave the same performance. His innocent and puppy eyes look provides the comical touch to this movie. Kudos to the young actor, Hwang Suk-Hyun, who acted to charmingly. Overall, the movie kinda reminds me of About A Boy (starring Hugh Grant). A single successful thirty-something who discovered the joy of fatherhood and being responsible not just for himself but for people who are close to him and people he loves. Another thing to note is the beautiful soundtracks they have in this movie - just like 200 pounds Beauty. Go and see it and have a good laugh!!

KJ P (br) wrote: A very lacklustre sequel in almost every way possible, "Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise of the Panther" delivers on it's title character, but fails to feel like an Avengers film and more like a Black Panther film, which was cool for the first 10 minutes, but it just got boring and repetitive and by the end, there was nothing shown in this picture that was not in the previous instalment. With characters that are not as interesting as the main Avengers and side plots that might as well be cut right from the film, "Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise of the Panther" is sloppily put together so that Marvel can pump out an unnecessary sequel to a film that never needed one in the first place. Overall, there are some fun action moments, but you will not remember this film for very long. I am already forgetting the highlights of it...

Ben K (kr) wrote: Director Tobe Hooper, capable of much much more, works lazily under the impression that sudden bursts of fire both generate scares and heighten drama, but is proven wrong at every step. On the whole this is an uninspired film, but it works thanks mainly to a great lead performance from Brad Dourif, an actor I've always admired and who is a wonderful freak of a man (kinda like a psychotic version of Mark Hamill, I've always thought). Also on the plus side, you do get to see John Landis spontaneously combust, which is fun...

Tatsuhito K (ca) wrote: Roger Greenberg may just be the most unlikable character Noah Baumbach has ever put on screen, and Ben Stiller is exceptional as this incredibly irresponsible, selfish, neurotic asshole who complains about everything (I mean, EVERYTHING around him.) Average moviegoers would find this man quite obnoxious and not relatable at all. I wouldn't be surprised. But boy, this character fascinated me so much; the movie is so engaging to watch because we all know people like him, and Stiller gives his best and most nuanced performance of his career. Greta Gerwig, Baumbach's muse, is so damn likable and approachable as Florence. I love everything she does and she is really good in here. Rhys Ifans also does a great job as Ivan, Greenberg's ex-band mate. I loved Baumbach's direction and his darkly comical script, which was co-written by his then-wife Jennifer Jason Leigh. He skillfully walks on the thin line between humor and heartbreak. Greenberg may be hard to watch, but it is definitely worth seeing.
