(us) wrote: There are many reasons why ?,, is considered a must-see film.1. It is directed by Nobuhiro Doi, director of great romance films and series such as Be With You and Nada Sou Sou.2. It is starred by Ikuta Toma, Aragaki Yui, and Mukai Osamu. OMG!!! >0<3. It is based on the most beautiful song of the same name by Hitoto You.... and so on.I almost screamed out of joy when knowing that it would be released in Thailand at Apex and House cinemas and managed to get some tickets to the Thailand film premiere at last.Hanamizuki tells a tear-jerking love story similar to Be With You and Nada Sou Sou (but not as much tear-jerking as the two Doi's previous films). The film is sad, but I found it encouraging rather than depressing. Kind of encouraging people to be true to love. Toma, Gakky, and Osamu have all delivered such great performances. So talented and natural as they are, fans will not be disappointed. The scenery in the film were also very well-chosen. On the other hand, the plot of the film is a bit too 'soap opera' and has pulled down the film somewhat, pity. All in all, the film is definitely worth watching for the brilliant Toma & Gakky, just don't expect too much of the plot. ^^*Notice* Please continue watching the end credits to see various nice pics.

(au) wrote: Coolio did a great job, but he looked SO short! The movie was Atomic Twister awful, the CGI was horrible, and the gore present but unimpressive. The biggest flaws, though, draw from such utterly awful dialogue and plot contrivances that laughter was the only option. So Amy Sloan ends up in a nest, shoots a 'dactyl...and then lets the ripped apart but alive army guy continue suffering when she leaves? Why throw a rope across and send a man, when Sloan alone can cross alone in half the time anyway? And how quick can we forget Willis and his broken leg? Awful, awful, awful, even worse versus efforts like Basilisk and other Sci-Fi originals.

(ru) wrote: An average western from the period helped by it's unusual setting The film is set in Colorado just before the Civil War. Stack is a adequate lead but his feeble attempts at a Southern accent are quickly dismissed and he spends most of the film sounding like Elliott Ness. Mayo is unremarkable as the good woman, but Roman puts in a memorable and sincere performance as one the town's only bad girl. Tourneur's direction is the real star. His color widescreen photography is excellent.
(mx) wrote: It's not quite the masterpiece on the level of "Ugetsu" or "Sansho the Bailiff" but this is still quite an exemplary film. It's about an employee of a rich merchant who through a series of misunderstandings and the hot-temperedness/arrogance of the merchant runs away with the merchant's wife and is falsely accused of adultery but then things get complicated when he confesses his love for her. The film, all of Mizoguchi's films I've seen so far, features great acting and is beautifully shot. It's a moving, heartbreaking love story.

(mx) wrote: Big fan of Curb, and this was basically a movie version of Larry David's character, and it did not disappoint me. Good supporting cast including Michael Keaton and Jon Ham.
(nl) wrote: I really like the general texture of this movie, its hushed tones and sun drenched lighting. The script, storywise, is ok, if you can wave past the endless bad decisions, but character wise... its pretty bad. Justin Long's Darry is unbearable, he is so shrill and dumb you kinda want to punch him, and there's only so much you can blame on brother sister bickering. I know stupid actions are the motor of such horror stories but to that degree? Come on.... So this is a scrambled opportunity that really should have been better but its still a bit above the average horror fare of the same era.
(jp) wrote: Somehow the film takes the good elements of the first film and makes them cheap and at times boring. Suprising considering the cast and the action scenes. It does however still contain some great moments.
(kr) wrote: Despite relying heavily on clichs and already-used plot points, Real Steel is a very memorable film that presents an enjoyable underdog tale with thrilling action sequences and an awesome core concept, even if its characters are only slightly interesting.
