Delirium

This spaghetti horror's storyline revolves around a former hooker (Grandi) running a successful men's magazine. An obsessed admirer systematically slaughters her models (occasionally increasing the magazine's output) and supplies the mistress with pictures of their disfigured corpses taken in front of her semi-nude posters visible in the background. Is she going to be the psycho's next victim?

Howard E (us) wrote: It isn't easy to watch a film about a character who is a self-absorbed jerk, so LISTEN UP PHILIP is going to be a challenge for most. The jerk in question is Philip Lewis Friedman (Jason Schwartzman, SAVING MR. BANKS), a gifted, NY-based novelist whose second book is about to be published. Philip is also a first-class, narcissistic ass, condescending to everyone he knows - friends (both current and ex), girlfriends (both current - Ashley (Elisabeth Moss, TV's MAD MEN) - and ex), his publisher, his students, and even the people who read and like his books. The only person he's nice to is literary icon Ike Zimmerman (Jonathan Pryce, TVs GAME OF THRONES), who recognises Philip's talent and takes him under his wing. The two men are quite similar - they set high standards for themselves and for the people that surround them, and they don't handle disappointment very well. Ike has his own strained relationships to deal with so it's quite possible that he sees a younger version of himself in Philip. (If you think that Ike's character is reminiscent of American novelist Philip Roth, you're not alone. Even the faux jacket covers of Ike's numerous publications are amusingly similar to Roth's own novels.)Narrated by Eric Bogosian (Oliver Stone's TALK RADIO), LISTEN UP PHILIP sometimes plays like a documentary - a case study of how to alienate your friends and family while having a successful career. It's both amusing and acidic at the same time. It was written and directed by Alex Ross Perry, whose latest film, QUEEN OF EARTH, which also stars Elisabeth Moss, was released last month in the US and is receiving high praise. After 10 minutes of watching Philip trash all his relationships, you're going to want to turn the movie off. Don't!

Mandy C (au) wrote: It's a complex feeling after watching this movie. Even more when complicated when such a heavy and serious movie incorporated with Tony's witty and semi-funny acts. I really want to like this movie a lot, but really... putting the "tokyo raiders" charisma to this show proves it doesn't work. What's more is when the story is pretty predictable to some point it doesn't make sense. But nevertheless, the setting for the movie is nicely captured... and comes with accompanying music, and of course credit given to those who did a perfect job developing tony's character. Conclusion, worth watching on a boring weekend when you have nothing to watch.

Simon D (us) wrote: What an awful movie, I thought about listing all the things that were unrealistic about this but then it's easier to list the realistic bits, the trees!I am a fan of the UFC and, although I don't really like sports movies, I thought this might be interesting, especially as it had Slice and Mir in it, surely that had to mean something, no, these were token appearances completely irrelevant to the film. The story is as cliche and overused as it could be and the acting was woeful, the fight scenes were as obviously choreographed as swan lake, and the music was terrible. I can see why this does not seem to have been promoted by Dana White and chums, it must be an embarrassment to them.

It's one of those films that elicits tears, laughter and everything in between. I found it uplifting, inspiring and very entertaining. Insatiable Moon is about real people in real life with no 'air-brushing'. It should carry a warning - this film may change your life as it challenges values in its presentation of conflict between traditional inner city dwellers and the newbies who want to sanitise and gentrify the area - in this case Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand though it's a universal story. Love you, moon; love you, Arthur.

Jairo A (ag) wrote: Still enjoyable but it's definitely the weakest in the series. I still liked it and I didn't find it to be crappy like other people make it out to be.

Plain C (au) wrote: The film blew me away. Give it a little time because it is a slow one but nicole kidwoman is pretty gnarley. Great stuff

Michelle C (ru) wrote: Sept 2016: I can't believe that I've never reviewed this movie before. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Yes, it takes place in London, in Notting Hill, at Portobello Market (three places I've visited with my Mom), so it gets at least a star for that. I love Julia Roberts in rom-coms, so another a star for her. It has one of my favorite soundtracks, which I listen to and put its songs in other playlists, so a star for it. It has one of my favorite lines in a movie ("I'm just a girl..." I won't finish it ruin it for others), along with many others, that are worth at least a star. And, the "chase" scene is worth at least a star on its own.

Greg W (es) wrote: This is a great look into the life of pimps and the women they pimp. The Hughes brothers were able to include many of the most famous pimps in the world including Fillmore Slim, Don Magic Juan, and even had an interview with Too $hort. I would recommend this to anybody interested in viewing the life of a pimp through a pimp's eyes.

Kari K (jp) wrote: What happens when "Even the cops are a bunch of pussies"? Linda Blair takes the law into her own hands to seek revenge on a gang of scumbag punks that raped her deaf/mute younger sister in this nasty little exploitation gem from the 80s. But be warned to have a bar of soap handy to lather yourself up while watching this film cause you'll feel pretty dirty afterwards.

Christopher H (ca) wrote: A top 10 movie, all time all genre, for me. I grew up on this and still to this day believe it is the best on screen representation of the mythical side of Arthurian Legend. Nicol is far and away the best Merlin. Appearances by Gurney Hallck, Qui-gon Jinn, the computer Deep Thought, and the Satan that Arnie somehow defeated.MUST WATCH ONCE A YEAR

Jonny B (jp) wrote: The excellent performances of Freeman and Pitt keep 'Seven' rolling through the unevenly paced opening half. And while the climax may feel a little rushed and farcical, the actor who plays the psychopath delivers it with aplomb (as one would expect). Fine performances across the board make this a film you should see, even if it is a little over-hyped.
