David A (kr) wrote: Though you might think this is another war movie that we've seen countless times before, but thanks to Andrew Garfield's inspiring performance and Mel Gibson's brutal, yet heart warming direction; "Hacksaw Ridge" brings out a war story that we never thought it existed. The filmmakers brilliantly brought the story of a WWII soldier that saved countless lives, both good and bad, without the need of killing or the use of a gun. It's inspiring and fascinating to know that a story like this actually happened. The gore and violence might be a bit troublesome for those who have a soft heart, but the journey to get to end will be satisfying. Thank you, Medic Officer Doss for your courage in saving those men.

Pouya K (it) wrote: Both lead actors are wonderful, and director Ziad Doueiri (West Beirut) artfully addresses the cultural and even spiritual dimensions of the story without losing sight of the lovers' tenderness and confusion.Lebanon-born director Ziad Doueiri, a camera operator on Quentin Tarantino's films, has a dreamy, fluid style he decorates with light electronic sounds -- from bands like Air -- that give this film more than a touch of youthful poetry.

It's about romance, the hip hop culture, & the love of rap music with an extremely positive vibe. This classic still stands the test of time. =)

Peter P (gb) wrote: Wow, I had such high hopes for this movie, and although it was not as bad as some people say it is, it is really not all that good. I think the main problem is they made an action movie set in the west instead of making a western with some action in it, and then add in the supernatural stuff that is not accurate to the character and it just doesn't work. Also, although I don't think Josh Brolin did a terrible job, I think both Nathan Fillion and Thomas Jane, who were also up for the roles at one point, would have done a better job. Lastly, I think it is a sure sign that when Megan Fox is doing the best acting in the movie that something is not right, heck this movie even had Michael Fassbender, but he was mediocre in it too. It is just a real shame, this could have been great, but for the most part it comes off as a remake of Wild Wild West, which I think we can all agree, is never a good thing.2 Beards Out Of 5

Dyron W (es) wrote: Wild Wild West is a bloated mess of a movie chock full of lame jokes that desperately tries to emulate Will Smith and director Barry Sonnenfeld's previous success with Men In Black.
