Ashley H (mx) wrote: Marmaduke is a cute film. It is about a suburban family who moves to a new neighborhood with their large yet lovable Great Dane. Lee Pace, Judy Greer, and Owen Wilson give amazing performances as their respective characters. The screenplay is entertaining but has some slow spots. Tom Dey did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the humor. Marmaduke is a must see.

Dave S (it) wrote: It's not surprising that PBS decided not to air this - they probably still couldn't air this today without extensive edits. Really compelling, although the formlessness begins to frustrate in the last half hour or so - after focusing on the one family so much in the beginning and getting into some unexpected issues about interracial relations, the film then abruptly moves on to an extended party scene with characters we know far less about.

In the case of "Hair," the musical is scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up, given a coherent plot, definable characters, a more traditional narrative structure, and all of this while not losing an ounce of the play's radical spirit or surprisingly timeless message. The performances here are, if not real, then real enough (especially Treat Williams' riveting Berger and, in a brief but flooring role, Cheryl Barnes as the forgotten fiancee of one of Berger's hippie friends), and the cast handles one of rock theatre's best scores with both respect and unmatched talent.
Jack Y (jp) wrote: The original Flint did well enough at the box ofce for 20th CenturyFox to invest more into the sequel, and it shows. The script is better developed, the sets are grander, the girls are prettier, and theres more location lming. The plot is just as ridiculous but everything is better balanced, from sexy cosmonauts to cryogenic freezing. Flint here is da man, even if there are more appearances of James Coburns stunt double this time.
Jere M (br) wrote: This movie is a fun spoof of the 30s-50s private detective movies. The characters are all well played and cast with a strong chemistry between Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour helping to push the movie along. If you are a fan of the classic detective movies, then you will enjoy this light hearted romp through the same story lines with the same characters and the same one-liners.

Brian F (it) wrote: Really don't know how it would stand up to a viewing by young people today - 2015 - but when it came out it was absolutely The Dog's Bollocks. Not being course for the sake of it - i'm 71 - but somehow the phras fits. Best gangster film I ever saw, somehow outdoing the American cinema at it's own game. And I don't say that lightly, as I am a great lover of American film noit gangster films.
