Tom R (ru) wrote: (3 Stars) (109-min American cut) Let's get something straight: the version I saw isn't a great edit of Chinese Zodiac. There's very little setup, basically no introduction to the characters, very odd editing, and everything about it seems rushed. I wish I saw the over two hour "directors cut" or the version they screened in China. But for the most part, I still liked it. I'm extremely biased toward Jackie Chan. The action in the movie is classic Jackie... I know he does wire-work now, but that doesn't really stunt my enjoyment of it; he's still creatively using props and his environment to make amazing fight scenes. The story is beyond goofy and somewhat confusing. If you count this as Armour of God III, it's definitely not as good as I or II. But Chinese Zodiac is comedic and action-packed Jackie and it reminded me of my favorite films of his. If I was a twelve year old, I probably would have really loved this.

Lora R (ru) wrote: The first movie I watched of Ram Charan is Magadheera, but this was his first movie. I didn't like this movie that much, because the story was kind of clich and I felt that Chirutha didn't have a proper ending.I hated the actress and her voice and it's a pity that they they put Ram Charan in such a movie as debut.I did like his acting though and I think he is really attractive.

Paul C (fr) wrote: Ok I have mixed feelings about this movie. First lets start with Rand Gamble. He did a great job as the main character. You can gradually get creeper and creeper. So yeah he was decent. Now Laura Putney was ok. She was not a creepy ghost and she had this one laugh that totally ruined the movie. A lot of directors think you can put an asian girl in a horror film and she can be a scary ghost. Well, only if you do it right. Hinano Yoshikawa was not that good. She could hardly speak english. The story was really creepy. But if it was done right, it could of been VERY creepy. Some of the sound effects at night had too much volume and sounded horrible. The music was ok though. So overall, it was decent thanks to some creepiness and some acting.

Scott S (ru) wrote: Airport 1975 (1974) -- [6.5] -- I enjoyed this way too much. But, come on. You put Charlton Heston, Karen Black, Myrna Loy, George Kennedy, Sid Caesar, Erik Estrada, Nancy Olson, Jerry Stiller, and Norman Fell (Mr Roper from "Three's Company") on a doomed airplane together... with Gloria Swanson?!? As herself?!?! Win! And Linda Blair as a little girl who'll die unless she gets her kidney transplant soon? And singing nuns!?! Not to mention there's a decent amount of bona fide suspense in this sequel/remake, especially when they try to lower a man from a helicopter into a moving 747. "Airport 1975," welcome to my guilty pleasure list.

Justin S (it) wrote: A really suspenseful, dark movie that has a fantastic ending. Humphrey Bogart gives one of the best performances I've ever seen. The performance is made even more important in the way that it examines the psyche of characters Bogart traditionally played.

Dylan D (kr) wrote: Bad Teacher isn't must-see, life-changing filmmaking, but it's an easygoing, well-crafted, smartly-written, and nicely acted little cinematic diversion that surpasses its measly expectations and delivers an end product that's highly entertaining and well worth the effort. Is it destined to become a classic in the "School Comedy" sub-genre? It has some pretty stiff competition, but after watching more serious fare like Stand and Deliver and Lean on Me (outside the middle school classroom, please), it might make a for a pretty darn good free-flowing chaser.

Post G (mx) wrote: Fascinating movie. Gary Oldman is excellent, as is the direction, although it is a little rough at times. The overall structure and writing are perhaps a little to blame for this, and the flashbacks don't quite work, in my opinion. My Beautiful Laundrette works better as a film, but Prick Up Your Ears perhaps aims higher, and does have some wonderful scenes. I'm still unsure about Alfred Molina's performance. It's certainly overacted, but perhaps that is what the part requires, in light of the slightly shallowly-written character.
