Quen D (ru) wrote: It was horrible. I hated from beginning to end. I was so excited to watch it and I was totally disappointed. I kept on screaming about how wring it was and how much it deviated from the original.

Robert B (es) wrote: John Dies at the End is one of those delightfully weird movies. Yes, it lacks here and there in various aspects (e.g. plot) but none of that detracts from the fun. While I found it to be a notch below classics such as Repo Man, still it is undeniably a good time.

Ethan S (us) wrote: Crowd funding horror hasn't become a mainstream practice, but this film makes me hope it soon becomes one. What these filmmakers accomplish with 36K is pretty amazing. Almost everything works in the film. The atmosphere is right on. Sometimes, these found footage "underground" films can feel stagey, but these tunnels looked very real. They weren't overly decorated or messed with. The actors are all completely competent. Even when the girl has the unfortunate "i'm a woman so I'm going to scream when I shouldn't" you believe that she can't control it. In fear of spoiling anything, I won't reveal any details about the danger that lurks inside the tunnels, but let's just say it is shown just enough where you kind of know what it is, but have no resolution what so ever. Now, this film is found footage, but it works well. We follow a journalist and her crew and this scoop is the last chance she has before being fired. It seems hooky, but no one actually tells her that this is her last chance. She just thinks it is. Thats not a set up, thats reality. These characters are well fleshed out with doubt, reasoning, and regret. We also see surviving characters in post-event interviews. It adds emotional depth and works well to create tension in some of the scenes. This film doesn't break any new ground, but what it succeeds where it counts. It's really scary and thankfully its all grounded enough to avoid stupidity. One last thing, this film has one of the scariest moments I've seen in a horror film in quite a long time. Please, go to Youtube and watch this movie. The filmmakers have graciously allowed us to watch it for free.

JAGT P (au) wrote: Dirty Mary Crazy Larry might not be a masterpiece of cinema as it does not have a brilliant, complex or original production in general, but it has its own interesting charm that makes it a worthy wild ride, from beginning to end (especially with the ending - one of the most remembered in cinema). Very underrated film.
