While admirable enough in its extensive use of contributors from across the franchise's history and impressively thorough home-video footage - the doc nonetheless left me with some questions. How come Eastman and Laird's relatively low-budget venture succeeded where so many others have failed? What incarnations of the TMNT do they consider to be failures? There was also a couple of notable examples of mediocre lighting and sound and some pacing issues in the editing. Overall though, definitely a must-watch for Turtle fans - not so sure I'd recommend it to others.

Teemu Q (us) wrote: Magical, modern version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Even though it was really heartfelt, it could have had more musical elements and songs to get the story really take off. Now the film felt a bit mixed and it didn't reach its full potential. The twist in the middle certainly changed the whole movie but I could have lived without it. All the actors did a great job, especially Wendy Robie as lovely drama teacher and Tanner Cohen as a struggling boy with a big crush. All and all "Were the world mine" is charming movie and worth watching.

Bruno L (nl) wrote: Boring! It's painless to sit through. Not even a good cast could save this one.

Amal H (au) wrote: interesting movie...Cinematography was at times astounding enough to leave us oblivious of the words spoken on screen..The narrative was very impressive, turning a story of hopelessness into a much more optimistic one by breaking it into 3 a 3 part story and presenting it non chronologically..overall very neat filmmaking.

David B (ru) wrote: Faithful in tone to O'Conner's bizaare southern gothic novel. Though a little too slapstick in sections, it is still an enjoyable film that's unfairly looked over.

Bradley W (ca) wrote: Across the Universe is a fantastic musical that combines great covers to some of the Beatles greatest songs and a good story to match. While it was a bit long and the story dragged in certain points of the film, it uses its characters and love for the Beatles well and gave us a beautiful film about life and love. I loved the artistic direction of the film and several themes found throughout the music of the Beatles. Jim Sturgess does a fantastic job as Jude. Evan Rachel Wood killed it as Lucy. Joe Anderson was also terrific as Max and really stood out. The entire cast was great, and they deserve more attention. Overall I really enjoyed Across the Universe, and as a major Beatles fan I was having a blast singing along and enjoying the ride.
