It is 1995. The summer when the war operation Storm will take place. Boro, who is going to be forty in a year and a half, with his wife Jasna and son Luka goes to his home village Drinovci, Herzegovina, after seven years. He wants to see his brother who managed to leave Sarajevo with his family. Boro knew that his brother was wounded, but when he sees him after many years, he discovers that the brother will spend the rest of his life in wheel chair. Boro constantly fights with Jasna, and he doesn't speak at all to his father Pako, whom he blames for his mother's death. In two weeks in August 1995, Boro will solve the years long dispute with his father, he will learn to be a better husband and a father.

The setups were too cliched and over the top, ruining my suspension of disbelief. I found it difficult to root for the protagonists. And finally, where I had hoped it might all come together in a clever and satisfying ending, it merely floundered about and came off as disjointed.

I'm glad I rented it because it is quite different from the usual romantic comedy. Actually, it is kinda an anti-romantic comedy. It's quite funny at times. There is a blend of coincidences and indefidelities between all the main characters. It may not be the most realistic movie but it's pros definitely out-weigh its cons. Just a Kiss is original, comedic, and sometimes strange.

Some of this movie is not awesome, pretty much all the Uma Thurman stuff, especially all the needless nudity and the very long awkward sex scene. So this is a mixed bag, but where else will you see Bill Murray and De Niro is a school yard fight? And that makes it worth watching it all on its own.

My best friend says that she loves it which I was wondering if I should watch it and then she said yes. I was worried about Uptown Girls because it has bad reviews, and the trailer didn't made it better either. So I tried to ignore those and just watch the movie with an open thought. In a surprising moment, I actually liked it, I didn't love it like my best friend did, but I like it. At first with the beginning, I was hating the main characters and was finding them a bit annoying, but when the movie keeps going, I was starting to grow on them. I was a bit bothered that with Dakota Fanning's character, she don't like touching things because of germs, but there were moments that she was touching things that people already touch. The plot is formulaic, and the beginning was a bit hard to sit through. The middle and end got better however, it was funny, and the chemistry between Molly and Ray is good. I'm genuinely surprised that I even like the movie and my best friend's recommendation of movies are getting better from a bad start like Romeo And Juliet, to a masterpiece like Gone Girl, I was actually interested in Gone Girl until she said that it's amazing film which got me excited more for it, to a good movie like Uptown Girls.
