Leon B (kr) wrote: Review:This movie was definitely not what I was expecting. Judging by the poster, and the fact that they put Bruce Lewis in it, I thought that it was going to be actually about an assassination, but it ended up being about a boy trying to find out who nicked the answers for the test in a school. There was totally no reason for Bruce Willis to be in it and the storyline was pretty terrible. It just seemed like your usual American teenage college movie, which we have seen loads of times before, and it just seemed to drag. I was quite disappointed with the film and I can totally understand why it didn't make much noise, even if Bruce Willis was in it. Expected Better!Round-Up:With the murders happening in the schools, I can totally understand why they held this movie back because I don't think that it would have gone down well with the victims relatives. The director didn't really use Bruce Willis that much so it's obvious that he plastered him all over the poster, hoping to get people to see it, but judging by the money that it took, that didn't really work. The main character who is doing all of the investigating was a bit dull and I couldn't understand why he was left to solve the problem when an adult should have dealt with the matter.Budget: $11.5million (Bruce's Wage!)Worldwide Gross : $70,000 (Terrible!)I recommend this movie to people who like there typical American teenage movies about college life. 2/10

Dr N (ru) wrote: I watched this not really knowing what it was about, i obviously knew it was a John Waters movie but i wasn't sure what Divine's character was going to be or anything. All the way throughout the film i felt so bad for Francine, i just wanted to go to her house and rescue her. What really made me laugh was when Francine was hanging herself off the fridge and Cuddles comes in not even recognising that and just says "lets go for a picnic. I honestly didn't know what i was watching, i havn't ever watched a 1950's melodrama about suffering housewives so i thought she was going to go and have a lesbian relationship with Cuddles halfway through the film.....
Angelica D (nl) wrote: I adored this film. The way that it was so out there, how birds were paralleled to people, the professor, and all of the crazy characters mixed in. My most favorite Altman film so far.
Fran P (ru) wrote: Josh Hartnett is the main reason why I watched this film. The vampire aspect comes second because I miss "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" so much. This could've been a great flick if it stopped trying to be like "28 Days Later," especially with the soundtrack. What I liked best about this film is the tone: it's consistenly menacing because the shadows and the snow became their own character. I didn't like the foreign vampires at all, which I initially assumed to be Russian. I didn't like the ending that much because I thought it was an easy way out. I also didn't like the way the vampires would kill people and how the camera would shake relentlessly. Still, I didn't hate the movie. I simply thought it was okay. It's not worth going to the cinema for but it is more than enough for a Netflix rental.

With the one thing they all have in common is the demand for oil in general, using plenty of backdoor shannigans showcasing political corruption. The problem is that, one can get this kind of information either from newspapers or from on-line, made up or not, perhaps many books written about the subject can place the overall experience to be nothing new. A far superior film is "Lord Of War" which was released a few months before this one.2 out of 4
