Aldo G (de) wrote: Wants to be a cross between the fine TV show "American Horror Story" and the Robert Mitchum classic "Night of the Hunter," "The Bleeding House" fails miserably. But, Patrick Breen's portrayal as a sinister southern surgeon is worthy of comparison with Robert Mitchum's legendary villain. Too bad, this movie's script and other performances lacks in clarity and substance. And, aren't we all tired of movies and TV shows that have cops show up at a crime scene and fail to call for back-up. This movie has that annoying flaw and several others. I would like to credit Hildur Gunadttir's music. It and Breen's performance are worthy of a better movie

Melvin W (us) wrote: "It will change the way you think, feel, and shop..."Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price is an extremely important documentary, even more so now then when it was even made. The film came out in 2005 and 8 years later, it's still as relevant as it was when first released. It's a film that is supposed to open your eyes up to what these global corporations are doing to not only the economy, but to individuals all over the world and also to communities like we all live in. Wal-Mart is an easy target to attack, as it is the biggest and most profitable corporation in existence. Not only should this be a wake up call for what Wal-Mart is doing, but for what many corporations are involved in on an everyday basis. It's disgusting.A variety of angles are taken here to show the corrupt, manipulative nature of Wal-Mart. If we were to take their word for it, Wal-Mart would only be seen as a good thing. The prices are low which help the average family make ends meet with their budget. Also, the CEO would like us to believe that their employees are important to them, that they are given good benefits, and good pay. In reality none of this is true, but the lie is easy to sell when you're selling everything at the cheapest price and have billions of dollars to advertise more lies.Wal-Mart is just another example of everything that is wrong with America today. What happened to the good old days, when mom and pop stores thrived, and people were actually able to make up their own minds on where to shop. Now advertising agencies know exactly how to warp everyone's minds and can pretty much make us believe anything is good and helpful to our communities. You gotta love America now. It's corporately owned from government to community and this movie does a great job showing Wal-Mart's involvement in our downfall.

electro p (mx) wrote: a charming, yet underrated story, with the makings of a childrens classic. its got good morals, a story that will keep kids glued to the screen, humour and above all its heartwarming to know it was based on a true story. i like how it starts and ends with real life people, as it adds that air of storytelling, and connects the audience more to the truth of its realism. its factual, yet fun and well made. i would certainly say it would compare to rival giants disney, and it gives kids a little education along the way, so its a mystery to me as to why its not so known about. it is perhaps a little slushy at times, but lets face it, most family films are! loveable even if you wouldnt want to admit, it left me smiling throughout. and watch out for the woman at the end, that got me 'ahh'ing!

Sergio M (mx) wrote: i love the collagework on the walls!! i reminds me of my old house in london! i love it!! apart from that, it is still an amazing movie. but the collagework is even more amazing!! it's definitely one of my favourite oldman movies, before he turned to histrionics. and i love the story, so decadent. well worth a watch.

Steve W (us) wrote: I've never seen a movie with more hammy acting in my life. Lombard and Barrymore take over the entire picture, mostly screaming and being very theatrical like divas. There isn't a lot of jokes, but sometimes there's a chuckle here and there.

Jacob B (it) wrote: While still a bit too dark and brooding for younger audiences, Batman Returns nevertheless benefits from the performances of Michael Keaton as the titular superhero, Danny DeVito as The Penguin (real name Oswald Cobblepot), Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Christopher Walken in the role of Max Shreck as well as some amazing action sequences and occasional humour every once in a while.

Bernie M (jp) wrote: Slow and with way to many endings and subplots. I didn't really care about any of the characters and I was sort of just waiting for the end about halfway through. Dogfight scenes were very cool though.

Tristan M (ca) wrote: Not sure how close this movie sticks to historically events, other than it doesn't really for most of it, but makes for a great and enjoyable watch about a time in history that isn't shown in film much. The film goes quite in depth with its long running time, and has great character development and story behind it all. The acting and story are the stars here, particularly by Daniel Day-Lewis as his role of the Butcher, who's although not the main character the film followed per say, he is the star of the show and gains the full attention of the audience with his ruthlessness and insanity. He steals every scene he's in, thanks to his acting and script, and in no small part to his costume. The slow moments were still very interesting and important, and the action scenes were intense and gory. The first battle between the 2 main gangs was pretty impressive to watch, although a different choice of music could have been a good idea, just wasn't fitting. And the last battle was also well done and violent, and when Amsterdam kills the Butcher it is a bloody and strong scene for sure, a good way to end the film. Overall very well done, strong acting and amazing characters is the star here, and the setting and topic is also otherwise unheard of and very cool to see.

Courtney K (br) wrote: i'm not sure why i haven't rated this one yet, i watched it quite a while ago; although now that i'm thinking back to it, i think i was confused as to what the story was really about... so maybe that's why i didn't write a review. i liked it -- it's extremely weird, which is right up my alley.
