(jp) wrote: After watching White House Down you can't help but compare it to Olympus Has Fallen and it's better in places and not so better in others, The effects were great and the action scenes were entertaining, It started to slow for me and I was losing interest abit, When the White House is first taken over you could imagine it being a Die Hard film but then it get's more explosive and it loses the Die Hard name, Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum were great together and provided some funny humour, It's just as good as Olympus Has Fallen if it had abit more bulk and blood (What Gerard Butler brought to Olympus Has Fallen) It would of been better but it didnt but it's still a great entertaining film.

(br) wrote: A old fashion movie Slasher, with all the problem of old movies (bad cut, bad scene, acting perfectible and a blood who look like painting) but, I enjoy It.
(ag) wrote: Good action film with a good story, loads of action not spoiled by having W W E Wrestler Mr Kennedy in it ,played quite a good part

Though the script and production was not up to the quality of, say, Spanglish, the movie is very real and true. The only thing that surprised me, and not in a very good way, was the ending. It seemed to be a feel-good movie in which representatives of two different and often at-odds cultures meet and overcome the barriers so that friendship and mutual supportiveness can grow. But it ends up being tragic. I don't regret the end, though, because it is realistic. This movie doesn't let the viewer off the hook. By not providing a feel-good ending, the film can leave a sensitive person feeling haunted by our cruelty to the people who put together our swimming pools, pick our strawberries, clean our houses. Now that, thanks to our walls, police, harsh laws, and general animosity towards foreigners, the immigration from Mexico to the U.S. is 0%, we might start to see what life is like when we don't have them helping us out for wages few gringos would ever accept as pay.

(ag) wrote: Ah, this is the kind of movie that makes you believe in things. John Cusack is as amusing as ever and Kate Beckinsale is lovely as usual. Even through its cheesy premise and schmaltzy complications, Serendipity proves to be a beautiful inspiration of faith, fulfillment, and love
(kr) wrote: This movie was awesome!! I loved all the action. Of course the prerequisite tragedies have to occur for the hero to come back for vengence and this was one of those films. SRK as the mute Shankar was great. The romance that buds between him and Gauri (Madhuri Dixit) is sweet. I thought it was awesome when Shankar starts getting back at the people who did him wrong and Gauri helped him. That's true love. LOL. Really great action fillm with so much heart.

(ca) wrote: A darkly comical surrealistic tale. Despite being a truly bizarre experience, somehow it comes together and even makes sense. It takes a director like Cronenberg to pull off such a feast.
(jp) wrote: Overall a below average horror movie in my opinion. Some great effects, cool plot ideas, and the fact that this movie did the whole meta-horror, self commenting, self-reflexive horror thing about a decade before SCREAM (which is pretty cool). But I can't lie, there were many moments in which I just had to struggle to take this movie seriously, and more often than not, that is going to drive down my personal rating for a horror movie. It's worth a watch, but you very-well might not care to have a second go-around with it.

(br) wrote: Here's a Bava flick I have a serious soft spot for. It's essentially a western set in Viking times. Cameron Mitchell is the wandering gunman (knifeman in this film) who takes up with a woman in distress while seeking vengeance against those who wronged him. There's nothing particularly unusual about it outside of the Viking setting, but it's a really solid genre flick. It also has a really cool, long drawn-out fist fight.

(jp) wrote: There are some nice scene but as much as I like this movie, I fucking hate that I have to spend 1,5 hour of my life watching people looking at each other as if they're gonna suck their souls.
(fr) wrote: Very good movie that is IN NO WAY a sequel! Stop comparing it to the first and you'll like it for sure
(kr) wrote: What I got to say about "Z for Zachariah" is a movie that is okay in my opinion. "Now for me it's very boring. But the is moments get your attention then the tension goes away." The performances by the cast is okay to the most part. The only problem for me is that I personally felt that the wasn't any character development and if there was it's barely. The directing by Craig Zobel was okay. The screenplay by Nissar Modi is choppy and unclear in my opinion. The cinematography is fine. The score is fine. Finally, the effects are okay as well. "I have to report that "Z for Zachariah" is a movie that I not to much a fan of."
