EllenRebekah A (es) wrote: Well done, acted, written. Authentic. Not sappy. I highly recommend it.

Taylor S (jp) wrote: A lot of people who have seen this movie have described it as "pretentious" or "overly artsy" and I couldn't disagree more. The shots were stunning and the music really exudes the passion between Freddie and Hester. Tom Hiddleston and Rachel Weisz did an excellent job and their chemistry was apparent throughout the whole movie and Tom did really well playing a character so opposite to himself. Lastly, The ending was extremely disappointing only because it left it to your imagination and I wasn't sure if I wanted to imagine what would happen afterwards. Overall, I think it was a beautiful movie and I will probably be watching it many times over.

Derek M (kr) wrote: Excellent! A lot more fun than watching other historical events of this type. Although it is quite flawed, I believe beyond a doubt that this film was far FAR more worthy to receive the award of Best Picture thank Chicago ever was, what was the Oscar committee thinking that year!?

Ben R (es) wrote: Why does this movie exist? I really want to know who thought this would be a good idea. This movie is not fantastic. And I don't know if the new one was any better because I haven't seen it, nor do I want to.

Talya H (au) wrote: Whoopi Goldberg is brilliant as usual. Even if the movie is a bit silly its great fun!!

Annie B (es) wrote: Maybe all Ginger Rogers and James Stewart are doing is playing themselves, or their readily-acceptable movie selves. Maybe it's an extremely predictable romantic comedy. Maybe you know how it ends. Does that make it bad? No indeed! PS, rumor has it that the leads were former lovers (Ginger was Jim's "first"). Who knows? There certainly is a nice, sexy chemistry.

Kilo D (br) wrote: "The Savages" is hard to sit through in the best sense of that phrase. Hoffman gives yet another beautiful performance yet is outdone by the attractive and immensely gifted Laura Linney.

Joshua G (us) wrote: I'm giving this mini-review from the perspective of one who knows that this was shot on a mere $30,000. The Sleeper is an attempt to recreate an early 80s slasher, more specifically 1981. Sadly, neither the characters nor the setting are anything close to this, but the use of practical effects, simplistic scoring and dark tone give it an edge that I doubt most produced in this situation would accomplish half as well. With a higher budget, it'd be nice to see what director Justin Russell could really do with the available resources.
