Patrick S (us) wrote: I don't understand why some people consider this movie a campy humorous cult hit. It's a terrifying drama, full of incredibly tense or uncomfortable scenes that Dunaway punctuates with madness and despair I can only say is hypnotizing to watch. It's a story about abuse, decline, and a sick woman. It's a piece of art, not trash to laugh at.
Diane A (kr) wrote: It promises much and does not quite deliver. All of the elements are there - rural France, castle ruins, strange ceremonies and naked virgins (! apparently) romping around. Yet, it just didn't quite get there.
Keenan S (us) wrote: Yankee Doodle Dandy is an excellent patriotic musical that rides almost entirely on the superb performance of James Cagney (Though the rest of the cast is also great). The story is well written, the musical and dance numbers are catchy, it's funny when it wants to be, and it also has solid moments of drama that are carefully placed in the right spots. It's great musical that also serves as a love letter to America unabashedly. Some might criticize it for being propaganda, but screw those people in all honesty. If you enjoy a good musical, this is one to check out.

Sam H (ca) wrote: The beautiful Trish Everly stars In this somewhat unusual but classy slasher/thrilling offering that sadly falls apart after a strong, attention grabbing first hour upon the disclosure of the killer's identity. What follows are an array of grating, overlong scenes and a plot that eventually winds out of control. Despite these shortcomings, Madhouse boasts some alarming set pieces, strong central performances, impressive cinematography, suspenseful moments and an unexpectedly potent sense of elegance. Although it doesn't always hit the right spot, when it does...It really does. Well worth a watch for horror fans!
