Carlos M (ca) wrote: While the gripping original movie took its time to develop its characters and make us care about their fate, this effective sequel takes the risk of focusing on people we know almost nothing about but is able to create a lot of tension in an extremely nerve-wrecking second half.

Cam E (fr) wrote: I used to read the books when I was younger and I really expected to like this film. And I did, this film is very funny it is a nice idea to make a film from the books. I enjoyed this a lot and the acting is generally good apart from some. I reckon that is the only bad side to this film is that the bad acting from some is disappointing considering this is a very enjoyable film. But nevertheless it made me laugh a lot.

Petros T (fr) wrote: For a big part, "The Out-of-Towners" rattles along in brisk pace, running on an amusing array of awkward situations and the chemistry of Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, with John Cleese offering some delicious support. When it does reach the final act, though, it does start to feel a little overlong, eventually going out with a fizzle instead of a bang. An overall harmless comedy with the "middle-aged American" factor too strong. Wife, kids and work is all you need, folks.
Ryan H (ru) wrote: An honest look at a man and woman slowly decaying due to their passions from the past. They can't be honest with each other about what's deepest in their hearts. The audience will never fully know what happened with Andreas and his wife, nor will we know what truly happened in the car between Anna and her husband (although we have a pretty good guess). All the animals dying on the island is an interesting way to depict the passions of men lashing out in the wrong way. As if we didn't get enough from Andreas and Anna, we see it all around. I think Johan was a highly interesting character. I don't know if I've ever seen a side character be so interesting and needed before. I loved when Andreas says that people become more and more silent when they have worse lives. At that moment all we can think of is Johan. Johan is beaten and pissed on because he was convicted of killing the animals, yet he was innocent. He could no longer take it anymore. Only a single man on the island was kind to him, but it wasn't enough. Andreas is too distant to be enough. The Passion of Anna may not be Bergman's best, but it is impossible to turn off, and the last line of the movie "and this time his name was Andreas Winkelman" really was one of the best endings of all time.

Matthew W (ca) wrote: This movie is one of those classic 50's sci fi monster movies. one word sums this movie up......in the future we will create space ships ware you can use grandees and rocket launchers in them and it wont screw up the machines and or blow a hole in the ship and kill every one.
Scott S (gb) wrote: It's the 9th film in the series, but it manages to stay somewhat fresh and entertaining. The hidden city of Amazon women is a nice touch. Brenda Joyce takes over the role of Jane just fine, and it's neat to see Johnny Sheffield growing up on screen.
