(ru) wrote: great idea wish i could have just seen a full debate with the extras added at the beginning or end didn't like the way they edited the film

(ca) wrote: Well it was dramatic and occasionally mildly funny... There are basically four relationships each with different problems; it's like combining the guests from an Oprah show or something! Janet brought the drama to the film, Jill brought secondary drama, Tasha Smith brought the laughs and Tyler and his partner were just kinda there for no apparent reason TBH! It was interesting but as a whole was a rather average movie... Janet and Tasha for me were the two stars!
(kr) wrote: Bio-pics are tough. Sometimes being 100% faithful to the person and/or biography can make a surprisingly uninteresting movie no matter how interesting that person may be. Mr. Nice is ultimately a chronology of a Howard Mark's life without any real story behind it. Perhaps writer and director Bernard Rose wanted to create a movie that isn't judgmental but it just ultimately feels a bit boring despite the criminal dealings. Remaining relatively neutral while working towards a dramatic point is very possible as the Baader-Meinhof Complex has proven and that's where Mr. Nice fails. The film and story is almost too procedural and neutral that feels as if there's no real point to re-telling Mark's life. Characters suddenly appear and disappear without any real dramatic point, and Howard Mark's character himself seems surprisingly underdeveloped. It's just a movie that showed what he did and that's it. To further compound the problem, the movie's monologues are very uninteresting and hinders some of the drama that we see on screen. Despite that, the movies decently directed but very well acted by a Rhys Ifans. It's a nice view but ultimately an inconsequential one.

(au) wrote: a unnesessery sequel to not that interesting or good original, even missing robert englund from first who did add something if anything, crappy comedy with some gore which is ok, but not great at the end of the day

(nl) wrote: A tepid, awkward travelogue interrupted by tepid, awkward dinner-table philosophy and put to rest by an awkward ending apparently intended to imbue the film with meaning through tragedy. The only success in the film was capturing John Malkovich's expression at the end of the movie and holding that successful moment frozen through the credits.
(jp) wrote: Very emotional with stong performaces throughout...Highly recommend!
(br) wrote: A man becomes a ton of bees. That's all I really remember. Weird Indiana Jones wannabe. It's pretty awful, as I recall, but possibly amusingly awful.
(jp) wrote: I do not understand why this movie needed to be made. I was never bored, per se, but the movie irritated me and it tells a story which I don't think really needed to be told.
(ru) wrote: Not the right cast to get an Oscar, But deserving in all categories. Wonderful story and very well done.
