Eversmile, New Jersey

Traveling dentist O'Connell traverses South America on his motorcycle for the 'Eversmile' foundation of New Jersey, in a fight not only against caries, but also against fear, ignorance, indifference - and established antediluvian dentists. During a stop at a lonesome garage he meets Estella, who is supposed to marry a few days later. However she'd rather come with him - to meet a former boyfriend in another town, she says. Expecting problems, he refuses to take her, but she tricks him into it and then tries hard to convince him of her qualities and let her stay with him.

It has tons of horror movie star power and is quite efficient at using it's low budget to make a film that rivals the big boys. It starts off slow for about the first 20 minutes to give weight and legitimacy to the story and its characters before leaping head-first into the action and suspense which is generously served up for the duration of the movie. You really start to care about each of the characters, which is rare for most horror films. The writing and directing are solid and I really enjoyed how the subdued color palette gave the story an even creepier vibe. The bulk of the film takes place in one location, but each scene is laid out in such a way that you barely notice that they've never left the compound. It was very reminiscent of movies like Saw and You're Next. Overall, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who has enjoyed any of these actors' other work and want a refreshing change of pace from the typical haunted house stories that are out there already. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Cj O (jp) wrote: Ugh. Horrible. I'm waiting for the horror for an hour, and then one horrific thing happens which is totally stupid and pointless.Cons: 1. There's no antagonist of any kind. 2. The movie has no horror, let alone a good plot. The plot is supposed to be about a guy who wants to join a frat and ends up dying. 3. There's no explanation of the ring's power or why it drove the protagonist to his utter destruction (very Lord of the Rings like sentence). 4. Not even MST3K could make this funny.Don't even bother thinking about the reasons why someone would make a movie as bad as this. No one should have to even touch a movie box for this.
