jennifer a (de) wrote: great movie, not appropriate for small children. great way to show that racism isn't always what everybody thinks it is. its a lot more complicated, and a lot of the time the people that you suspect are the trouble makers and guilty really aren't. they're just the followers. but again great movie.

Zach M (ag) wrote: Love how certain things tie in to the original. Some plot points were weak. Liked the character development of Oz, as he begins really as a smart-allec.

Mathilde F (ru) wrote: It's a heart wrenching movie about the tragic life of Francoise sagan, a french writer. The acting is really really good. It is a little bit like the movie about Edith Piaf (la mome.) Two thumbs up to this incredible actress Sylvie testud, who did an incredible job, playing the role of the mythic Francoise sagan. One of the best movies of this year.

Hannah H (ca) wrote: This movie had everything...except a clear plot line. It had your monologue emo camo wearing radio host blogger, Michael, teaming up with the young, pregnant widow in a prairie dress, Sarah, guarded by her tough-as-nails redheaded mother who herself has lost a husband and a son to this unseen fallout. The mother and daughter reside in the basement of gone-until-now black entertainer ventriloquist, who has some crazy power to take people to an in between world '6 steps to the right/left' for reviewing ones life. It is using this power in a fortress cave inhabited by other rag tag characters he is able to inform the anti-hero lead sadistic henchman, David, that he is actually trying to kidnap his sister, the pregnant girl. David is a rough and tumble sniper badass henchman who hands out 'medicine' to the Surgeon General's Warning repeating black twin girls wandering about his Master's above ground palace. His Master is an ancient woman who for some reason desires Sarah's baby. It takes them forever to get to this point, and as expected, they don't develop the suspense or urgency of action enough to hold my interest.Somehow all the main players come together and get Sarah to the origin point of another radio broadcast that has been rumored to be heard. It is run by ANOTHER ventriloquist who tries out the black man's dummy, a character in itself, sometimes seen moving a glassy eye, guarding a character, or dropping on the Medicine Twins and then guarding the baby they left behind.Oh, ya. The baby is Sarah's. Like you didn't know. But Sarah and her mother have been drugged or poisoned or something. The scary lady had taken the baby, then confronts a bleeding, poisoned David who stabs her with the same pair of scissors she stabbed him with, killing her instantly. Good thing David's drugged/poisoned mother stumbles through a few lobbies and randomly comes across him, giving him that chance to connect before fading away against a pillar.Radio host Michael monologues again as a changed man (he's taken off his camo jacket and smiles while he talks, so full of hope!) and they are back in the car, headed who knows where, on some journey he claims they set on from from the beginning.Nothing has really changed, has it?And as for cover art... the poster on the Red Box showed a blond girl in short white shorts and a tank top, facing a decimated city and wolves. (OMG, and I thought they were on the brink of extinction!)The DVD art is the one at left. Notice how the gun is Photoshoped to her back, not even a strap to hold it up....
