Jamie J (es) wrote: Electronic Arts really are pushing the whole extended universe thing with Dead Space aren't they? Following on from the reasonable, but hardly special "Downfall" "Aftermath" sets up the events between the first and second Dead Space games. Aftermath suffers from most of the same problems that the first movie did, notably an obscenely low budget, and some massive plot holes that make precious little sense. The feeling is compounded here in a scene where one characters daughter actually CHANGES SKIN COLOUR in different scenes, due to each flashback having a different art style. Clever that. However all is not lost, I actually found the story in Aftermath to be much stronger than Downfall, and the film focuses much less on over the top action, which quite frankly was a blessing. However you simply cannot escape the fact that the film seems lacking overall, and the 3D animation is simply atrocious-akin to a mid nineties episode of Jonny Quest.

Guido S (de) wrote: Pretty much standard mob type movie with a great cast, but the movie isn't funny or good despite the comedic talent on hand. Couldn't get into this movie at all. Waste of time if you ask me.

Martin T (ag) wrote: A surprisingly rich film, touching on a wide variety of themes. Self-discovery, familial duty, censorship, and of course passion for cinema, and the responsibility of the filmmaker. Kieslowski's most autobiographical work, and his comments on filmmaking are fresh and honest. He realizes that simply pointing a camera at something does not capture the truth, and that films can have consequences. One of the things I love about him is how he never breaks down into black and white, right and wrong.

Rick L (de) wrote: An entertaining matinee. Definite b movie.

Paul C (au) wrote: Obligatory 80's post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi vehicle that almost every major Hollywood actor at the time had to appear in. Its the same well-worn story - essentially an update of 'Shane' - but this time the fight scenes are really quite poor - still Swayze did get to sat alongside his wife.

Matthew S (jp) wrote: Spalding Gray's monologs are brilliant. One of the few authors that is better watched than read alone.
