Hatchet 3 is basically the same plot as the 2nd one, a group of people go into a swamp to hunt Victor Crowley, but in this case it's not a bunch of hunters , it's the police and the swat department. The thing that I liked better about this one than the 2nd was there was more immersive gory scenes with Victor, we got to see him as much as the 2nd one but this one has better directed slashing scenes that's a little badass. This movie is not directed by the Adam Green who made the 1st and 2nd hatchet. The director is B.J McDonnell, I think he did a really good job at improving and keeping this trilogy alive! This was yet another good and even more satisfying slasher series and I can't wait to own it on blu ray! I'm gonna give hatchet 3 a (?????? 1/2) out of (??????????)

Tim G (es) wrote: This was a laugher and boy was this bad. Definitely B movie material and i this was a really strange movie. The first sign of a bad movie like this is with a lot of nudity and it had a lot. I guess the director thinks that adding nudity will make it a memorable movie but it really didn't improve the quality at all.

Michael H (ag) wrote: It??s hard to understand why Beebe??a specialist in serials and cowboy movies??was chosen to not only direct, but to produce the film. Yet, it would be hard to fault what he accomplishes. Indeed, the results supposedly pleased no less a figure than Alfred Hitchcock, who screened the film to assess the performance of Janet Shaw, who he was considering forShadow of a Doubt(1943). The story has it that Hitch completely enjoyed the film and was amazed by its 13-day shooting schedule. In any case, he did cast Shaw in his film. The film is delightfully over-the-top. It??s only a minute old when we find Fay Helm raving that the whole house ??reeks?? of blood????The air is charged with death and hatred and something that??s unclean!?? Well, it??s that kind of movie, and anyway, she??s not wrong??she??s just in blood-and-thunder mode and that suits the film.

For the genre it was brilliant, bonkers yes, but a great whodunnit nonetheless: humorous yet dark, great fun to watch, very engaging and most importantly -very well acted! Some complain of the shifts in storytelling but I loved the keep you on your toes, guessing style. Some complain about the ending being ridiculous, yet the accept someone's is growing horns? It's in genre and all part of the humour to my mindIf I had gone by the reviews I would have missed what was a VERY enjoyable film. Loved it.
