I loved the TV show, I loved the movie (but I don't like Mr. Big so much...). Great clothes, great girls, great guys, great friendship...great clothes! It was exactly what you can expect after the TV show. (but maybe the movie does not give you so much if you don't know the TV series). All the familiar faces where there, the new girl (assistant) was nice and fresh. Samantha had calm down too much?I laughed and I cried (and that is what any good movie is supposed to make you do). It is girlish nonsense, but I like it, it is a perfect escape from the reality ;-) It was also a nice story about love and forgiveness. And I want such a closet, too!!!

Steve O (mx) wrote: I saw this film at the drive-in when I was a kid, maybe 13 or 14 years old, and it has stuck with me ever since. I remember looking for YEARS, hoping to find a VHS or, later, a DVD copy. Finally, I tracked it down. This was a truly great drive-in picture, and like other truly great drive-in pictures (Basket Case, Sssss, Kentucky Fried Movie, etc), both deeply flawed and deeply satisfying. Satisfying in that we got to see very weird weirdness, well outside what was considered "normal" at the time. I won't argue the flaws - they are dire. Still, Race with the Devil is a truly frightening, if unlikely, piece of work, and in my world deserves 3 of 5 stars.
jay n (jp) wrote: Overwrought is too mild a word for this lulu of a gothic melodrama. Of course being a Eugene O'Neill story the epic tragedy is no surprise but it is turned out in purple prose and declamatory acting. Sophia looks beautiful and is full of ripe sensuality. Burl Ives is made up to look older than his years but just looks foolish and Anthony Perkins keeps his twitchy intensity mostly under control but the film is just short of operatic overstatement which make it hard to take. Add into that the obviously fake settings and the whole thing is too much.

David Lynch's first Disturbing, Thought-Provoking, and Surreal masterpiece is unlike anything I've ever experienced.Template, Art, Meaning.Nightmares are real, we just don't fuckin believe them.I need to experience this on criterion one day.Everything may be fine in Heaven, but that doesn't exist in nightmares... life, bad choices. The uncontrollable.
Marcus B (jp) wrote: Wow, what a stinker!!! Main character can barely act, the plot is laughable and you're acually spending most time not watching the movie, but wondering how the hell did they managed to lure deNiro and Whitaker into this mess.

Returning is Craig T. Nelson as Steve, JoBeth Williams as Diane, Heather O'Rourke as Carol Anne, Oliver Robins as Robbie, and Zelda Rubinstein as Tangina. New characters are Julian Beck as Kane, the evil preacher and Will Sampson as Taylor, who comes to help the Freelings. As the movie progresses, the Freelings soon discover the terrible link between Kane and the Beast. The acting is great. Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams give flawless performances, just like the last time. Julian Beck flawlessly gives Kane an air of creepiness. Heather O'Rourke gives another flawless performance of her own. Will Sampson does very good as Taylor. The special effects are perfect. They look just as amazing as what we saw in the original movie, albeit in a different way.The script is perfect. Mark Victor and Michael Grais expand on Poltergeist (1982) very well, providing a lot of insight into the original movie.Poltergeist II is just as good as its predecessor because it still manages to capture the magic of the original.
