Fight Club

A ticking-time-bomb insomniac and a slippery soap salesman channel primal male aggression into a shocking new form of therapy. Their concept catches on, with underground "fight clubs" forming in every town, until an eccentric gets in the way and ignites an out-of-control spiral toward oblivion.

The unnamed narrator is a traveling automobile company employee who suffers from insomnia. His doctor refuses to give him medication and advises him to visit a support group to witness more severe suffering. One day on a business flight, he discovers Tyler Durden, a charming iconoclast who sells soap. As more men join in, the "fight club" becomes an underground sensation, even though it';s a closely guarded secret among the participants. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Jim M (kr) wrote: Having returned from the war in Afghanistan members of an American Infantry Battalion set about the daily routine of training and inspections as they absorb new recruits. But one of their Sgts, Nathan Cross, is having problems. Suffering from Post Traumatic Stress and after slapping his wife facing divorce, Cross is a man on the edge. Cross has gone AWOL and its up to his friends and fellow soldiers Sgt. McManus and Sgt. Cane to find him...before its too late and he commits an act of violence that will scar them all forever. Writte, Directed, Staring and Produced by Kerry Valderrama, a vetran of Afghanistan. Garrison is a look at the day-to-day of an American Infantry unit as well as a look at PTSD and the effects secrets and lies can have on the average man. Low budget but Valderrama squeezes every penny out of a minscule budget. Great score, deceint cinematogrphay and some good acting from unknowns such as James Barnes (Cross), Valderrama (McManus), Elizabeth Ingalls (McManus' wife, also hot, also one of the films writers/producer), Jason Cox ("Machine" a squad leader) and Elijah Curtis (Staff Sgt. Lambose). The story is well paced, making it feel like something that could actually happen. I'm gonna go ahead and give it a recommendation, it'll be worth a viewing.

Jo S (ca) wrote: Probably the strangest movie I have ever seen. It is so nontraditional and mind-boggling that I usually had no idea what was happening, which was the appeal. Not understanding a movie makes it more interesting because it instigates research into the plot of the film, which is why I liked Primer, even though it had a limited budget. It is a nice experimental film to watch, but don't expect to understand it.

Laura M (de) wrote: A movie that works with two extremely different cultures and brings them together to display a touching story of the friendship of two girls with the same dream.

Christopher G (ru) wrote: A terrific film which covers a part of WWII unknown to most. The story traces the journey of half a dozen men including an architect, sculptor and museum curator.Based on true events, the film shows the group working to save major art works stolen from museums and private collections, especially art owned by Jews who would be killed by the Nazis. There is great poignancy in their struggle, successes, as well as failures, shown in the movie. If you like WWII movies, you will also enjoy the heroics shown by Americans, British and French soldiers to return these artworks.
