(jp) wrote: Its easy to relate to this well acted film: leaving a small town, breaking up, evils of the big city, dreams of the high life. A film about friendships, relationships, family, and reality. Loaded with adolescent emotion, but not overdone. Short musical inserts are placed with finesse. Overall, a great film!

(ru) wrote: An irresistibly bad but charming Action/Fantasy from the Mid 1980's, combined with bad acting, nonsense plot & a killer soundtrack from Queen this film is a true gem.The story of a Scotsman (Played by a French Man) being guided by a Spaniard (Played by a Scot) fighting an American Villain (play by a Swiss) who gains superpowers & immortality. The joy of the film is the sheer fun it is with bad dialogue & acting. It's fun to look back on & one of the better films from the Cannon Studios & with an audience is a lot of fun to watch.
(it) wrote: (2 stars out of 5) This movie was like a live action version of Hanna Barbara Laugh Olympics with cartoon villains (with foreign accents) and lots and lots of full on boob shots. It's a long lost 80's movies genre known as the Sex & Sports genre. It's where the studio takes a obscure sport like skiing, volleyball, skating, white water rafting, or surfing etc, adds an underdog trying to take on the champ (who's usually an asshole) and sandwiches the competitions between sex and gratuitous boob scenes, (bonus points if you get some topless Shannon Tweed) and blamo--you have a movie! This one wasn't that bad because they kept Shannon (and her tits) to a minimum and the male lead was genuinely likeable (and adorable). The skiing sequences were also pretty cool.
