For Ever Mozart

For Ever Mozart is an episodic film that follows a theater troupe from France attempting to put on a play in Sarajevo. Along their journey they are captured and held in a POW camp, and they call for help from their friends and relations in France. Director Jean-Luc Godard presents stories about this troop to ask how one can make art while slaughters like the one in Bosnia are taking place, and he throws in a strong critique of the European Union. For Ever Mozart is one of Godard's most disjointed and difficult films. Its stories sometimes seem to form a whole and at other times the links among them are unclear. One gets the impression that in each episode Godard attempts to start a film only to come to the conclusion that it is impossible to continue. It features some of the most beautiful shots of tanks in the cinema.

Jean-Luc Godard's densely packed rumination on the need to create order and beauty in a world ruled by chaos is divided into four distinct but tangentially related stories, including the ... . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Travis G (br) wrote: Despite the slow start up, Anthropoid proves to be a compelling emotional historical war drama. The plot deals with two Czechoslovakian men, Josef Gabck and Jan Kubis played by Cilian Murphy and Jamie Dornan respectively, who parachute back into Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia. Their mission is to assasinate SS obergruppenfher Reinhard Heidrich, arguably the most responsible architect of the final solution behind Adolf Hitler himself. Although the transitions in the film used by director Sean Ellis (II) are sometimes choppy and awkward, the entire product of Anthropoid captures the emotional turmoil experienced by these two men and those around them quite elegantly. What stands out most in Anthropoid is the acting of the cast. Although there are no heavy hitters amongst the actors and actresses, all deliver authentic and resonating performances, especially Cillian Murphy who is one of the more well known actors in the movie. All together, Ellis (II) delightfully tells a story that is unknown to most people about not only two brave men, but the brave people that assisted in bringing down one of the most vile men in history.

Spencer H (kr) wrote: Breaking Dawn is a huge step up from Part 1, but that doesn't mean anything because Part 1 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. This movie had it's moments, but it isn't enough to make this a series worth watching again, the characters are still boring, the writing is still bad, and the CGI is still awful. The Twilight Saga is a bad and forgetful series that will not be remembered or watched in the far future.

Archibald T (it) wrote: Norman is a very suicidal young man. He's heartbroken which is why he is suicidal. One day a pretty waitress named Jennifer hits him with her car. The classic case of boy meets girl begins. Unfortunately, Norman is very sensitive and when he discovers she has a boyfriend already later on in the film, he returns to his suicidal agenda.Escaping into a place called WoodsEnd, where a cabin takes center stage for the excitement that is to come in the later half of the film. Inside the cabin awaits two country bumpkins, Sean and Gary. Gary is the slow dimwitted brother to Sean who is the more charismatic if also extremely psychotic of the two. Sean has invited, I think, Norman to the cabin for a suicide pact. Norman believes this, but it turns out to be something a little bit more than what he expected it to be.Sean and Gary are actually looking for contestants for their fictitious game show called 'Torture or No Torture'. In one darkly hilarious moment in the movie, Sean explains the game with such charisma you'd think he'd be Pat Sajak or even Bob Barker. He'd make a really great game show host. Now the film is split into two categories: One is the Romantic comedy and the other is the Horror genre. They both collide very slowly into one another in the 2nd act of the film. The first act is very horrible since it's trying to set up the Romantic elements while also flashback and forth to the present situation of Norman being stuck in the cabin. It pulls it off by combining these two elements very well and I was slightly intrigued by it.Overall, if you can survive a little romance and a lot of torture you might enjoy this little gem.

The story is a familiar one, other Bollywood films have touched on this subject but this one still manages to hold up quite well. First-the photography, Mumbai is captured very beautifully. Second, Ranbir Kapoor's performance is worth noting. Since the story is so thin, he sorta has to carry the film on his shoulder's and he manages to do that well. Third, the character's seem real and so do their struggles, their dreams, their hopes and their failures unlike other mainstream Bollywood films. It's easy to connect with these character and root for them. I think the way their problems resolve is a little too convienant..but I guess with feel-good and character-driven films like these you kindof have to accept the little flaws and look at the bigger picture. The film really works and everytime I watch it, I can't help but bring myself to smile or say "awww" - it's just one of those films that takes you along and you can't help but be reeled in.
