Foster Child

Thelma (Cherry Pie Picache), together with her husband Dado (Dan Alvaro) and teenage sons Gerald (Alwyn Uytingco) and Yuri (Jiro Manio), are a poor urban family hired by a local foster care facility to provide temporary home and care to abandoned babies pending the latter's formal adoption. The inevitable separation is heart-rending for the foster family. Thelma's current foster child John-John (Kier Segismundo) is to be turned over to his adoptive American parents. Every moment with the 3-year-old John-John becomes more precious as Thelma goes through the day fulfilling her motherly duties for the last time—bathing John-John, feeding him, and bringing him to school where the boy participates in a school presentation.

Veronica (ag) wrote: Hilarious but tragic is the honesty and oddity of Seraphine. Yolande Moreau need also be praised for her portrayal of Seraphine, she is almost a sprite in human form.

Ashley T (jp) wrote: A very thorough history lesson on queer cinema, covering just about every movie and featuring many queer actors, directors, and other talents in interviews. Comes off as a tad pretentious at times, but you'll come out (heh heh) of it very well-educated.

Tracy F (de) wrote: Fairly predictable. Good cast but even they couldn't pull movie together. It just didn't seem to flow. It was a decent movie but nothing to write home about.

Rick O (fr) wrote: Not buying it. The whole thing... trying too hard.

Thomas C (de) wrote: A good example of why, sometimes, you should ignore the "critic score". They hated it but I loved it. Sandra Bullock :D Not quite "The Lake House", but very good.

Jack G (gb) wrote: Pretty dry stuff, but seeing Mitchum and Monroe on screen is fun. Definitely FAR from Preminger's best work, but there's some neat scenery. A lot of buts in this movie, huh-huh-huh. Speaking of which, Mitchum basically spends five minutes feeling up Monroe's legs in this movie. For a moment it gets interesting, kind of, sort of, not really.

Jeremy P (de) wrote: Look, I record some really random movies sometimes. I grew up on stuff like this but never saw this particular one. I realized two things. First, if Action Jackson had been made 15 years earlier, it would have been a completely different movie, but I did love the unmistakable 80s action flavor. Second, I feel like there was some kind of accounting error in a film studio. I think every supporting character in Die Hard and Predator was paid for an extra movie, so someone had the bright idea of putting them all together in a movie just to even things out. They just had to add Coach and a couple more woman, then boom, movie. Really liked Carl Weathers though.

Monica P (ag) wrote: This movie is terrible, a lot of bad acting (Except a few) and a terrible director
