Jim C (br) wrote: When you think pathetic, you may see this. George of the Jungle 2 is just jokes made by toddlers formed into a pure crap of a film. Nothing in this film is enjoyable, heck it shouldn't even be called a film, more like piece of crap, I can't even call it a time burner. This film is terrible, don't see it and if you have... may God have mercy on you.

Shane P (gb) wrote: Long before Christopher Lee was Sauron, he was Rasputin, the Mad Monk. Not too long before that, he made a name for himself as Dracula for the same production company, Hammer Studios. While Christopher Lee is fun to watch, the film itself does not really go anywhere. Historical accuracy is also a little lacking, but that could be forgiven if the story was stronger.
Chris B (ru) wrote: While many argue that "Germany Year Zero" is just misery stacked upon misery with nothing else, sometimes that's life and is reality for people. This is the third and final film in Rossellini's War Trilogy and is by far the shortest and to the point, running at 73 minutes while the others are closer to 120 minutes. In no way does the run time hinder the message of the film, rather it makes the message clear and hard. The film's protagonist is a twelve year old boy named Edmund Koehler who along with his brother and sister must care for their weak and dying father. Edmund's older brother was in the German army and thus is in hiding due to the allied forces being in power at the end of WWII. This means that there are four people trying to surviving on three rations, leading them all to struggle day to day. Edmund helps in any way he can, often making mistakes and being taken advantage of in many ways but It's clear his intentions are heroic and noble. After helping an old teacher sell items and make a little money, Edmund begins to get brain washed by the teacher who constantly speaks of being brave and letting the weak die and the strong live. It's due to this that Edmund proceeds down a rough and ultimately fatal downwards spiral. The film itself is a lonely and dark coming of age film in wore torn Germany and is almost a horror film for the neo-realist genre.
Ashley H (de) wrote: Act of Valor is an excellent film. It is about an elite team of Navy SEALs who embark on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent. Alex Veadov and Roselyn Sanchez give amazing performances. The script is well written. Mike McCoy did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the action. Act of Valor is a must see.

Thomas M (es) wrote: Can't believe the reviews. Solipsistic? No; thoughtful, well observed and excoriatingly honest. This film is a very writerly meditation on grief, love and trust and their counterpoints of denial, lust and betrayal.Yes the plot is byzantine but it is tight although you really have to pay attention. All the loose ends tie up, all the allusions fit and all the characters and their scenes add to the overall purpose.Yes, hard work; but worth it. I can only imagine that some critics did not pay attention, others found some of the themes repulsive and yet others just were not in the mood. This film may suffer from the "not auteur" myopia of others. We have polarised cinema now so it is challenging to see a list actors and directors doing something we usually only accept from Indi film makers.Go watch it.
