Mark R (br) wrote: This is a real gem of a movie. I read the book a year or so ago and since then two others in the Easy Rawlins series. This movie is exceptionally faithful to the book in both substance and style. It annoys me that everyone seems to want to make this a race movie when it is really a good mystery set against the backdrop of racism and abuse, much like the great historical novels tell a good story with the historical backdrop. It is a shame that this movie did not launch a franchise.
Ashley H (au) wrote: The Fortune Cookie is an entertaining film. It is about a crooked lawyer who persuades his brother-in-law to feign a serious injury. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau give amazing performances. The script is well written. Billy Wilder did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the humor and romance. The Fortune Cookie is a must see.
David A (nl) wrote: Even 2.5 is generous in this case... a rather retarded film with an adolescent narrator. Africa Addio was much more interesting.
James C (us) wrote: An absolute must watch, period. This film was destined to be a cult classic the minute it screened for the public.

Ruben Edgardo R (jp) wrote: painful to watch, not because of its execution or acting quality, those were quite good. It was painful watch because of how believable it was. definitely worth a watch!!!
